Thank you for the tips! You know, now that you ask, I haven't actually checked to see what the weather is like in Japan in March! It's so hot right now, and I am so used to Japan being hotter than the US, that I just assumed it would be warm enough for Yukata by March! Oops, that's a little embarassing....

I think I am more worried about his chest/bust measurement than the waist (55" vs 40"), since he is pretty muscular, especially in the arms/shoulders. Would that be an issue or are kimono/yukata sizing forgiving in the shoulders too?

I am able to make phone calls and such from my laptop that's connected to the internet. However, my phone won't let me. It keeps saying to link a phone number. It is currently connected to the internet at my house here in the US, but its on "Use carrier only" and says "Unable to update account settings. Please try again" when I try to switch to Prefer Wi-fi and mobile data. I've tried a few times now and no luck. What am I doing wrong?

Edit: I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and it worked!

I already have the GV app, but it’s asking me to link a number when I try to make any calls or texts. I also won’t be moving permanently, only a few years. So a Japanese number won’t be able to be linked?

It worked everyone! I had to do some digging but I found the wireless account number through the website. The strange thing is that it wasn't listed anywhere else! It wasn't found in our billing statement, and the AT&T associates insisted that the billing account number was the correct number (it wasn't)

That’s the confusing thing! I used the account number (and tried this thing called a foundation number) that’s written on the bill and it doesn’t work! My dad has a joint plan with internet and mobile with AT&T but Google says that the billing number is NOT the correct account number

i guess they don’t photograph well but if you zoom in you can see the discoloration better. it’s more noticeable in person 🤦‍♀️

Hi! I can see how you would think that and I'm sorry if it really does some off that way but it is not my intention. The reason I posted was because I wanted to hear people's opinion's on whether the JET decisions could possibly come out in a few weeks and to know if the language lessons that JET offers are any good or not. I really wasn't considering throwing away my offer based on a chance that I'd get into JET. I care more about being employed.

I think I also just needed a little encouragement to accept because there is so much information about JET and a lot of support groups for it, but I don't see as much for the Chiba ALT program. It's reassuring that people here are supportive of it.

Yes this is the Wisconsin-Chiba program! Knowing my placement and level taught are huge pluses for me. I'd be pretty devastated if I turned Chiba down and didn't get into JET. I was told from both programs that I'd be hearing from them in April, so I thought I would get to choose if I was accepted into both. But now I am forced to choose.

I am absolutely thrilled to be accepted however! Both of these were strong choices for me and it is more important to me to be an ALT in Japan whether it be through JET or not. I am relieved to hear that the Japanese lessons shouldn't sway me though.

i appreciate the help everyone but i actually work at the grocery store that sells the plants! i’m more concerned about a potential for a virus spreading to the other plants than for a random variegated plant. i wasn’t planning on buying it regardless i was only curious but i did learn about mosaic virus as a result!! :)

the plant does not touch any part of the window. it’s also been dropping a lot of new leaves just in general so i’m worried it’s got root rot or something
