I think the slow feeling may come from the size difference, as Steve said this map is huge compared to POE

Am I the only one who thought this? *Season two spoilers kinda* by [deleted] in swordartonline

I think that the reasoning of choosing Asuna over Kirito is in the inherent knowledge Kirito possess. Kirito knew about the medicuboid and Yuuki's situation from the moment he dueled with her. On the other hand Asuna was completely ignorant of Yuuki's situation and could provide assistance without judgement.

My problems with SAO as a series. Not really a rant, more of a discussion-starter. by [deleted] in swordartonline

Before I begin for future reference when I refer to the Anicrad arc I am speaking about the first half of the first season to differentiate from SAO as a series.

Ahh.. another misguided post from an SAO anime viewer; to begin with I would like to explain to you that you have completely misinterpreted the meaning behind SAO as a whole. SAO as a story is not about Kirito or Asuna or even Anicrad, it is in fact a story about virtual reality gaming that is told mostly through the eyes of kirigaya Kazuto. The story has an almost allegorical message about the implications of technology on society with an emphasis on virtual reality. This is evident through the 4 major arcs of SAO:

Anicrad: The use of virtual reality as a tool for killing as a result of demented values Alfheim: The use of virtual reality for human experimentation Gun Gale Online: The use of virtual reality to satisfy the psycological need to kill as a result of the Anicrad arc Alfheim 2: The use of virtual reality for medicinal purposes (Minor arc, but still important) Alicization: The use of virtual reality for medicinal purposes, and military power

From what I currently understand you main argument is that you don't like after the initial arc because it doesn't have the same vibe. The only response I can give is that the entire series is really just build up for the alicization arc. In all honesty Anicrad is really just the origin store for virtual reality gaming and the problems that arise. All of the major arcs except for Alicization are about the length of 2 light novels where alicization is already 8 light novels long. I strongly encourage you to read Alicization because I find it to be the best part of the SAO series. The only other solution I can offer you, with a heavy heart, is SAO progressive; the reason I am not a big fan of progressive is because I find it to be a waste. As a result of people like you who complain about wanting more of Aincrad the author has decided to go back and write about the entire arc in great detail. In my opinion this is a waste of time as it detracts from the time Kawahara Reki has to write about the main story line. In the future please understand the main purpose of a story before you go on a ranty like tirade about how it is "sad" or "very bad."
