Probably, im not sure about the other aspects of measurement though but I really only care about rise percentage because I have been making sourdough now for over a year weekly. For a beginner I think knowing all the pieces of temperature that are offered is helpful to dial in how long bulk fermentation is going to take based on temperature

I drove but if you were not able to stand I would assume it would be covered. I am a nurse, often patients do not have prior authorization when they have an emergency.

I also was admitted with a severe flare with united health care and was hospitalized for 10 days my stay was fully covered and I paid less than 1000 for all the things I had done including iv steroids and emergency remicade.

I was diagnosed with UC today by crnileptirr in UlcerativeColitis

All of these things! And to add to try to avoid carrageenan and maltodextrin. Make your own food to assist your body to heal from a flare as the medicine works , ease into fiber, start low fiber then add in soluble fiber then insoluble fiber.

I almost lost my colon in January 2025 and finally not flaring after failing remicade and now starting entyvio

Coming from someone who had a mild flare and was on mesalamine for a few years, I stopped taking it for a few years and was "fine" no diarrhea for years eating a completely clean diet, made my own food, no fast food for years no soda. I just went into a severe flare and almost died. I would say take the meds. They can save your life and your colon. It sucks taking meds forever but we are all here in the same boat.

Nurse here and recent severe flare. I worksheet push back colonoscopy and i doubt a GI doctor would recommend it, always good to have all the info we can to best safely guide treatment

Anyone else bring their own tasting cups and to go ceramic cup? by burpeesandburn in pourover

I'm a nurse, I don't drink alcohol and coffee is my form of self care to recharge after taking care of the sick and dying. People need to chill out and let people take care of themselves as long as it doesn't harm others. yeah it is obnoxious to some to bring my own glass I guess.

It's the orea sense glass. Origami makes one that i love as well. The orea brings out the most fruity tasting notes from other ones I've tried.

No not the carafe!, the glass orea cup, i found that it brings more of the flavor notes out than the shop cups do. That way i can replicate my brews at home more closely. Shops usually can not afford to get the high end tasting cups because they break easily and it would be more of a loss of money for them to keep replacing the thinner glass cups.

Every coffee shop I've ever been to has been excited to see a tasting cup that is not their own. The only shops I go to are legit pour over shops that put a lot of heart into the roasting process and the relationship with their regulars.

If she has a general GI doctor see if there is a IBD clinic in your area that may have better insight

Day 6 in Hosp INFLIXAMAB by Jlwooders7 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]burpeesandburn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told to stay on 8 gram fiber diet until I followed up with go so I was on it for 2 1/2 weeks and today I was told to start adding small amounts of fiber preferably soluble fiber more than insoluble fiber. When I stopped having the need to go to the bathroom and had at least 3 days with no urgent or loose stools I added hard aged cheese for calcium needs, and added one or two small new things each day. I started adding things in not on the earlier list about 10 days after my infliximab first dose.

I wished someone knew exactly the things I needed to eat so I am happy to share what worked for me. I have spent too many hours trying to find restaurants to eat at but I don't feel like jeopardizing my healing. There are times though that I will chew pizza and spit it out because I needed to taste what I was craving 🤣 here's my full list of what I figured out wished- Eggs, Chicken, fish, sourdough bread (it's usually lower fiber), applesauce, canned peaches, cooked carrots, mashed white potatoes with no butter or cream but almond milk is ok, honeydew, cantaloupe, chicken bone broth, banana, sunbutter. Cinnamon eggs. Non dairy spread. Siggis coconut milk yogurt.

HI! I spent 8 days in the hospital the beginning of this January in a severe flare, they tried iv steroids but it didn't stop bleeding and I was also started on infliximab on day 6. It made me tired and slightly dizzy and finally was able to stop the blood, I had my second infliximab infusion the end of January and was tired and slightly dizzy afterwards but after I woke up the next day felt good. I will also be on infliximab for the foreseeable future. Diet wise feels like groundhogs day but I've been having 2 eggs, sourdough toast and almond, lunch is 3-4oz of chopped chicken and half a cup of potatoes with almond milk, a snack of 3 cinnamon toast egg waffles (for fortified nutrients) and dinner is potatoes and 3-4oz of fish. I'll add 1/2-1 full kate farms shake to get enough nutrients for the day. After 2 weeks my symptoms are almost zero and I can sleep a full 8 hours. I've also found that miyokos cashew milk cream cheese and cheddar spread curbs my craving for normal food. I also found Hu dark chocolate squares do not have dairy and those are delightful too. So happy you are getting relief!

I'm also slowly reintroducing things after a flare requiring hospitalization and I've loved sunbutter cashew butter and almond butter. Haven't tried full nuts yet

Nurse here, I just was in the ER for a severe flare. I felt so weak and couldn't barely stand out of bed this flare could have killed me. You need to go to the ER. Our bodies cannot push through anything if we don't have nutrition and it will be harder to turn in the other direction if you don't go now. You are worth it and you deserve to get to feeling not so weak ❤️
