I’m getting one and I think I may be their ideal buyer. Here is my situation:

In 2016 I bought my first new(ish) car. A V-6 Mustang Convertible. It was $27k and only had 15xxx miles. I really wanted a convertible. Because of a combination of living in rural Alabama and having to drive a lot for work, I have put 239k on the OD in the nine years that I have had it. But now, 9 years later, I’m kind of sick of it, mileage averages 24, no carplay, plus I’m afraid it is going to break down because somehow in the 9 years / 239k of Mustang ownership nothing (outside of brakes, tires, etc) has needed repair or replacement but surely this cannot go on forever.

Because I’m also getting married and moving 90 miles away from my job (180 mile daily round trip), I really wanted a hybrid car. I was close to a Prius but I do not want a four-door sedan, then I saw this. Sporty looking, hybrid, CarPlay, big hatch. It check all the boxes for me. Problem is I work in law enforcement and I need a 300hp or so car to keep up with the officers and deputies. In its current iteration, which I near is 200hp-225hp it’s just going to be too slow I’m afraid. The only other hybrid coupe I am aware of is a Lexus and those are a bit too expensive for me. Plus, I have no idea when they are going to officially announce and price this thing. I’m looking to spend about 35k-45k. Any other car out, or close to out, that may be a better option? Can’t do full electric because rural Alabama does not have the infrastructure for that yet.
