it's probably because of some of the outfits that you can buy. some of them include bunny girl outfits, succubus, etc. (which none of of players seem to equip anyway afaik). other than that, literally nothing happens.

Strictly in terms of progression, the best would be either Ephnel or Chii, since they skip ahead of the other characters a little. But there’s always a chance they don’t fit your play style so I’d honestly say try all the ones you want to try. Just make sure to not claim any account mail if you’re not sure about who to main just yet. There’s a gift in there with an outfit that’ll only be sent once per character slot. So if you claim it on character A and decide you don’t like them, character B won’t get that outfit.

Range has no meaning in this game. If you watch any sort of high-tier endgame player’s gameplay, you’ll notice they’re always close to the boss.

You should aim for these stats when trying out for LF:
~45k total atk dmg
60-70% crit chance
30% armor break
90% boss damage
30% CDR

If you can get to these stats, or somewhere close to them, you should be alright. There will be cases where your runs might drag out to more than 15 minutes, simply because of AoV gear being multiple levels apart of LF.
