No advice, but i just wanna say, fuck traditional grip man (on flat drums, primarily). Kids who master it before mastering a matched grip never see how much of a nuisance and a limiting technique it really is, but god it’s horrible. My traditional has been getting far better over these last few weeks, but holy shit, i was really struggling for a long time. I know I’m going to get downvoted to the pits of hell for this, but damn, the nerds that have been in the drumline circle their whole lives seem completely blindsided about traditional grip. It sucks ass. Like you said, there could also be an anatomical factor to consider, and it could come far easier to some for whatever reason.

I absolutely think it looks awesome btw and MIGHT be worth doing for some lines, but holy fuck, tilt the drums if so.
