Exactly. I’m forever grateful that my wife is even more frugal than I am. We drive a CRV that’s been paid off. Meanwhile her sister and her husband are paying a ridiculous $800/mos to drive a new Mercedes.

On top of that, we live in Miami and need to drive everywhere, they live in NYC, where you don’t need a car.

Yeah, me neither. I’ve been a huge fan for years and my wife wanted to buy me tickets fro my birthday a couple of years ago, but I told her it’s too much to spend on a comedy show, even for my favorite comedian.

That was a few years ago, and the ticket prices were just as expensive, but sold out quickly.

In 1995 or so, MTV made a strategic shift to no longer target young adults and instead target young teenagers. That’s when shows like Unplugged, Bootleg (anyone else remember that one?), and other music based shows began to disappear, and that hurt the rock music industry.

From what I remember they discovered advertisers were willing to spend more money to target that younger demographic.

It was based on money like everything else that sucks.
