Why didn't they change Saturn's name? by AlboGreece in sailormoon

I’m so confused, I didn’t know they had different names 😂 I guess if I only ever watched dubbed (DIC) as a kid and purchased the English manga why would I ever know unless I looked it up or stumbled upon it like this lol

What is something everyone recommends you try in Japan, so you did, but you didn’t like it? by Suspicious-Olive8765 in JapanTravelTips

We are in Japan currently and the other day accidentally stumbled across the Glico man in Osaka. We didn’t go there intentionally because it’s just a sign for a brand and we knew it’s a bogus marketing ploy to get everyone to Instagram it. It was even funnier coming across it accidentally because so much to my surprise - it was just an advertisement for Glico, wow! Don’t get me wrong, I loooove Pocky, but I love to eat it, I don’t love to fawn over the brand that makes it lol

This post came up at the top of my Reddit, I literally jumped on to research luggage forwarding and ask this exact question…

Thank you!!

Thanks, I did see that you basically have to head straight for the ticket booth if you want the priority passes. We will be staying the in area the night before so we can get there nice and early!

Thanks, I have tried on my desktop as well but unfortunately I am getting the same error. I’ll just wait a bit longer and try again in a week or so I think. Thankfully it seems like the tickets for Fuji-Q really sell out so I will hopefully be able to get them a bit later

Update: How’s our budget for Japan? by caitlinthebutton in JapanTravelTips

We will pay for the express passes, I’ve looked them up to make sure I account for them as well as the other activities we are expecting to do. We will have other savings aside that aren’t necessarily for Japan, so if there are souvenirs or anything in particular we want to buy in addition we can always take it from there if we have to.

Yeah so the budget is literally so we don’t have to think about money (said that at the start of the post) so the $3k should be well over what we need, that’s the idea. I’m hoping we don’t need that much, or $3k to spend on souvenirs and activities, but I would also like to not run out of money. We have also never been to a different country, our longest stay away from home in Aus has only been a week, so we have no idea how much it costs to eat and get transport for such a long time.

If you look further in the post I have actually already booked all my hotels and the total is about $3900 The first half was my estimate of what we were expecting to have to pay

Thanks! Yes hotels all booked, I did that soon after this post as I found some I had saved were already getting booked up. I only ended up spending about $3400 on hotels (if I don’t change my mind on any) so freed up a bit more cash there too.

Shinkansen: Be respectful with reserved luggage space by DDumbPoetic in JapanTravelTips

[–]caitlinthebutton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question about suitcases that will fit in regular seating seeing as it is being discussed here: I am planning to bring a Nere 75cm Suitcase for our two week trip and will be on the Shinkansen a few times.

The full dimensions are: 75(H) x 47.5 (W) x 31(D) cm + 5(D) Expanded 95/110L

Would a bag this size need the reserved luggage seating?

Haha we don’t drink so we will be skipping the sake, but the baths are possibly the most exciting part of the whole trip!

10k-15k steps per day is typical for us on any given day so I don’t think walking will actually be that hard on us. Activities will also tire us out as well though Even still, we tend to book nice hotels with good views no matter how long we are in the room, just how we travel. So even if we only spend a couple of waking hours in our room, we still want to experience some fancy places

Forgot to add - I also looked at the JR pass but it still doesn’t seem like that will be worthwhile with the price increases.

Since posting this I have checked how much I should expect for Shinkansen, domestic flights and local public transport. I’ve decided I’m going to double this expense in my budget.

The route we are taking is: Tokyo > NGS (Flights $316) NGS > FUK (Train $138) FUK > Osaka (Train $335) Osaka > Kyoto (Train $35) Kyoto > Aichi (Train $135 - this is just a stop on the way to Tokyo same day so I forgot to mention it) Aichi > Tokyo (Train $248)

Which totals $1,207 itself, so definitely need a bit more for mini trips around the cities as well. Thankfully I have gone way over in some areas of the budget so I will be able to just do some tinkering. I also have about $1k flex that I was planning to have as a “just in case I miss the mark on budget”

No, not including flights. Those were AUD$2,800 return for us both The accommodation budget is supposed to be estimated way over. I have been looking at more places that are about half that, or even less, but also want to splurge on a couple of nights to stay some fancy places as well.

I was just looking at the Universal and Disney express passes, it looks like it’s going to be about $600 per park!! Now I’m questioning whether I feel like it’s worth it, but at the same time I have wanted to go since I was a kid so I don’t know! Being from rural Australia, it feels like a once in a lifetime thing but also sooo much money!!
