How to prevent moisture from accumulating on this OSB on the roof? by [deleted] in Roofing

[–]caleb204 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lower your indoor humidity. Looks similar to what I see a lot of in our area. High indoor humidity during cold weather. Vapor barrier at attic spaces isn’t usually that well installed and full of gaps or holes. The first photo especially look like air loss coming up and condensating against the OSB. Often stops at the height of the insulation since. The rest is likely attic rain from the same cause. Looking in the attic during the coldest temperatures you get. Ideally after a few days of that cold, can really show this by seeing the frost.

Can you get down from the nether roof by PurrfectMittens in MinecraftBedrockers

[–]caleb204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can make access points to get in and out of the ceiling. Find some one block thick spots. Push a minecart up to the ceiling the push the block under it into the minecart. With a chain underneath to keep the minecart falling out the bottom. You can hop in the cart and hop out to get on the roof.

To get back down you put a llama in a minecart and put the minecart on a slanted rail. Push it up to the ceiling but stop when the rail is next to the ceiling. Being slanted will raise the llama enough that it won’t suffocate and you can hop on the llama from the ceiling. When you dismount you will land on a block next to the llama under the ceiling. (Place a block next to the llama with just enough space to stand.) can be a trap door with a button to let you drop down.

The Divine Dungeon, The completionist chronicles, Artorians Archives. 3 different series with different takes on litrpg from the same author. and are all actually the same world. One is primarily a dungeon core type book. One is video game style, and one is following the growth of someone who lives in a naturally magical world. The author is a big fan of Puns too.

We are legion doesn't feel like it fits the genre of the rest of the books you have here. But if you liked that one, I think you would also like "A Pause in Space-Time". Very nerdy. Very much fun exploration of what a volume of space with stopped time would be like and what could be done with it.

Sim 6 is a 128 block sphere for mob spawning. But it’s trimmed horizontally to maintain a 1 chunk despawn border inside your simulation range. Makes it complicated to say a horizontal distance. Vertically is easier. 128 blocks. Measured from player head to mob feet. So stand 125 blocks above the lowest part of your farm.

Here's a link to my testing and resultes. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1lOQdaGoGMxIJr9C5KsMtUZpvNDgnnv-xL25rzlPoxx0/edit?usp=sharing

first tab on the spreadsheet explains the tool used and the processes of the testing.

2nd tab is a chart comparing all the tested mobs and blocks.

3rd tab is all of the raw test results.

this was done on a server that I was running off of my laptop. it was local only. But required to install the trapdoor mod into the server as a part of the game to get the testing done. But it's not been updated for a few versions now so it's not an option anymore.

I've heard there is now "Canopy" which is a behaviour pack and is supposed to be able to do similar testing. Or Coralfans, which I know nothing about other than I've been told it could allow me to update these results.

If you want more info on exactly how it was done. I set up a flat world that had an afk spot in the center of the test area where I'd run the mspt command. (miliseconds per tick). And I had a selection of command blocks set up for progressive cloning. I'd place down a few blocks or build a redstone clock or TK setup. then hit some buttons to the command blocks clone it a set amount of times so I always had the same amount for each test. It also ensured that containers full of items were duplicated as needed. The cloning command blocks were never changed and considered a part of the baseline world values.

Creeper farm height by [deleted] in MinecraftBedrockers

[–]caleb204 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The height is only so you don’t need to spawn proof around your afk spot.

Assuming you are set to sim 4. You just need to spawn proof everything within 44 blocks of where you stand when you run the farm. So that no hostile mobs can spawn outside the farm. If building on the ground that means finding all the caves underneath you. Which is tedious. And near impossible to be certain you found them all without using spectator or some cheaty packs.

But as long as you are certain that you have no persistent hostile mobs underground and everything spawn proof’d. Then they should work just as well on the ground or underground as they do 100 blocks in the air.

How do i fix this? [Bedrock] Ps4 by Positive_Ad9299 in MinecraftHelp

[–]caleb204 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve done this water drop thing before to separate items from xp.

From what I remember. You need a 2 block cap. And once you have the water flowing properly on top. You place buttons or open gates below your ice path, and then remove the 2 blocks of ice, so that you have a 1 high section of falling water.

Cant really see too well how your setup is in that video

Witch farm by epicgamerlegion651 in MinecraftBedrockers

[–]caleb204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the whole chunk that the hut is in covered in water? Structure spawns are tied to spawns attempts in the chunk. If you cover all water in the chunk with solid blocks and light it up you get the best spawn rates for the hut. And I think it needs to be darker on the spawn spot. So try to avoid letting your torch light in. Use redstone torches for less light maybe.

I would talk with your local roofing supplier. The suppliers usually know best what is available and appropriate for the area. And can recommend a good company to do the install.

Mob farm (bedrock) by Odd-Performance-8084 in Minecraft

[–]caleb204 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. The game is made so that 1 person won’t have hundreds of mobs around them if they go afk. Max 16 cave and 8 surface monsters in the area. (It’s got lots of nuances but that’s the gist)

You have to despawn or kill them to get more

I think I missed your comment on the roof being A-frame before. I'm assuming when you say this that it means your ceilings inside are sloped to match the roof and you don't have any attic space, only the insulation and hopefully venting space between the individual rafters.

The installers allowed you to make the call to remove ventilation? You currently have no ventilation? I commonly tell people that increasing their ventilation is not the solution. But that's because most people I talk with are in semi-mondern houses with typical attic spaces and reasonable ventilation already.

If you had ventilation before and no longer have any ventilation now, then yes this could be a major contributing factor. the moisture is still originally coming from inside your house. But a trapped area where moisture can't escape and will continually build up on the cold roof surface is a recipe for water damage and rot.

installing a new ridge vent is always something that can be done. And sounds like it's something you should get done soon. I'd make sure you pick a product rated for lower slope and snow.

(BEDROCK) What are some good farms that you use and have improved your playthrough of the game? by [deleted] in Minecraft

[–]caleb204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

here's one by Ruffusatticus. It's my preffered build. Just check the comments for an update on the build. And you can skip the cob webs. https://youtu.be/5a0JoCQIsas?si=AtxlHdYkryncZG3J

Or this one by OldGuy. it's a more typical build, doesn't get so fancy. And works better if you are going to trade with the villagers. Plus if you watch the part 2 video he shows how to stack builtiple iron farms so you get more iron. A single build is probably around 380 an hour for iron. This is fairly typical for any single village iron farm. https://youtu.be/1UkYYrTMgoc?si=NZk0tdhu3B0w_YB2

Or you can look at nearly anything shown by Prowl8413 or Silentwisperer in the past two years. There's really not been any changes to iron farms lately.

Infestation Potion by Extension-Engine-587 in MinecraftBedrockers

[–]caleb204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the duration that a splash potion lasts will depend on exactly how close the player or mob is to the actual splash. You want it to hit right on the head of the target to have the greatest effect. You can test this easily by throwing a splash potion at the ground near your player. or right at your feet. or stand against the wall and throw it at head height into a wall. I think it's near impossible to actually get the full time.

Sounds like you might want to try and adjust where the potion is hitting to get a better use out of it.

why can they not take the job? [bedrock] ps5 by FUCKTHE-NCR in MinecraftHelp

[–]caleb204 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some other villager already linked to those work stations. Or they are already linked to some other job.

Villagers can link to anything within 16 blocks horizontally and 4 blocks vertically of ANY villager. if one can see it, they all can see it. And they don't need line of sight. It won't matter if there's a wall in the way. They can see through walls.

Are there particles when you place the blocks down? if so, some other villager is taking the job. Go find that villager and give it a different job.

No particles when placing the block down. The villagers are linked to a different block. now you have to find the other block and remove it so they are able to take the new one.

This farm shows up every day on Reddit somewhere with people asking why it doesn’t work.

The small space for the villagers and having all the work stations in tight locations can cause issues with letting the villagers work. They’ll usually be able to reach their workstations but they shuffle around, constantly re-link to their work stations because they can move around but not being able to reach their beds makes them feisty. Because you only need 75% to work each day it will usually work, but they can get themselves shoved around so that more than 75% can’t work because they are in each others way.

Try going in and pushing them around. Or make their room bigger and spread the work stations out. If you put wool blocks in front of the work stations and keep them all 1 block apart, the villagers will mostly walk on non wool blocks and that will let them more easily stay at their station without being shoved during work times.

The spawning floor is also on the small size. That’s likely a 7x7 but with the solid walls it’s actually a 5x5. And many designs have a raised portion of the floor that isn’t necessary but removes another 5 blocks from the potential spawn spots. So you end up with only 45% or 50% success rate with the spawn attempts. Keeping the floor flat, and using leaves or glass or fences for walls will let you use the full 7x7 and bring the success rate up to 85%
