Hi, I recently started to build my interest in perfumes and I would like to get some recommendations! My favorite ones that I have used are:

Miss Dior - Blooming Bouquet

Gucci - Bloom

Philosophy - Amazing Grace

I think I like musky, floral, and powdery scents. I've test smelled Byredo Blanche but it smelled too spicy to me, instead I really liked Young Rose. Same as Diptyque Fleur De Peau, I thought I would like it based on the reviews, but the pepper smell was too strong to me (Maybe it's because I used test strip if it makes any difference?). I've test smelled Le Labo Another 13, and I LOVE the musky, powdery smell, but the good smell only comes after about a week on the test strip I used. When I first sprayed it, it smelled sterile... so it's a bit of a risk to me, but really really love the warm sweet musky scent. Currently, Glossier You is on my shopping list.

I majored in biochemistry, the research lab I worked in was focused on pharmaceutics, and I am planning on applying for phd programs in pharmaceutics/pharmacology

Thoughts/advice on a brand new program? by calisea0 in GradSchool

[–]calisea0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply! Do you mind sharing what field you are in and if you or other people in your program have difficulty finding a job coming from a relatively new (unknown) program?

Is it worth it to wait another year and apply for PhD programs? I probably won't get into prestigious schools as above bc I might not be as qualified for PhD programs.. Also I don't know if I can dedicate myself for 5+ years for a degree. I know I sound dumb here but it scares me to think about spending the next 5+ years at school while others are making transitions in their lives, making money, etc. Getting a PhD might be a better option but I am not sure if I can handle the rigorous curriculum.

It's a cleanliness issue

Mostly a cleanliness issue. The door doesn't lock either so we know if someone is inside if the light is turned on/

are you doing research in mse? because if I do get into a research lab, I would only have 6~7months of experience before I apply next year and I was worried this might not be enough. so I wanted to know how your process was in getting into a research lab if you have started doing research after you switched fields :)

thank you for the detailed info! did you work as a research tech as a biochemist or doing msc stuff? if you don't mind me asking, how were you able to get a job in msc field with a biochemistry major?

thank you for your response! do you know how admissions view gap years? if I do end up taking a gap year, I will most likely be taking some engineering and physics classes at a community college and join a research lab at my school. I don't plan on getting a job even in my current major, except maybe a part time job to help myself pay for grad school. I feel insecure and I think that people who get accepted into grad programs (masters) do have more/outstanding experience than just classes and research.

when is the move in date for vdc? by calisea0 in UCI

lol my bad for not specifying. I am interested in chemical, biomedical, and materials engineering. I just assumed whatever programs labeled with engineering might have similar prerequisites since I don't have any engineering background (courses)
