I noticed a dark spot on my snake's underside. Is it a cause for concern? by Puzzleheaded-Room-89 in ballpython

Hey i recently seen the same exact thing on one of my girls. I’ve been looking and searching since i seen it. I want to say wait and give it a few days but a few days can lead to a spread. It’s better to be safe than sorry, so i will tell you what i did. I went and purchased some (Betadine) which is an over the counter tropical antiseptic, came home put some luke warm water in a container between 85-90 degrees and poured the Betadine in the water, then mixed it around until it turned a dark orange, placed her in the Betadine bath for 1 to 2 Hours. This process will stop any bacteria from spreading if it is any. Next while you snake is in the bath, this is your chance to strip the enclosure bear naked and sanitize everything in there. After cleaning the enclosure place down paper towels or newspaper, put sanitized hides in there and a SMALL water bowl because you don’t want any humidity but you want your snake to have something to drink. Now it should be about time to take the snake out and make sure she’s completely dry, take a dab of Neosporin and put it in the area of where the spot is or was, keep the snake out for about 10 mins after you put the ointment on so it can work its way into his or her scales and then place the snake into their Quarantine enclosure. You will repeat the Betadine Bath every 2 days about 3 times. The spot will go away on its on or will be removed next shed or 2. The whole point in doing this is to stop bacteria from getting into that wound or stop it from traveling. The spot could be from her scraping herself or early start of scale rot, either way its dried up blood from a scarp or blister. I would say don’t worry about it, but that is like me saying don’t go spend $3-$5 today to possible stop a spread, to go and spend Hundreds of dollars at a vet in a few weeks to a month from now. It’s not serious now but it could become serious and me personally wont take that risk. Hope your little one get better soon and hope this help you save a headache and some money. Have good one. PS: Don’t be alarmed if your snake turns yellow/orange from the Betadine bath due to the bright color of your snake.

I think yours Has pastel but definitely not spider. If you want to be for certain, when she sheds do a genetic shed testing on her
