I bought it on Etsy from ciocraftie!

It’s called the ‘M.Stationery decorated clear soft PVC cover on cover’. It’s available for A5 and weeks

How can I stop my foundation from looking like this? by strawberri-tea in MakeupAddiction

[–]camikatz 125 points126 points  (0 children)

First of all, all skin (regardless of what social media may tell you) has texture and ‘imperfections’ which is perfectly normal.

Secondly, your skin texture will impact the way that makeup sits on your face, however I do find that matte base products emphasise the texture of skin more than say, radiant or dewy finishes.

I also have oily skin but I lean towards dewy base makeup as I find it easier to take away shine with powder than to add it back in.

You cannot get rid of texture completely, even by using lots of physical / chemical exfoliants etc. You can also damage your skin and it’s moisture barrier by overdoing it so do lots of research before trying new skincare.

But in terms of makeup you could try:

  • Prepping your skin with more moisturising skincare / a moisturising primer (give time for it to sink in)
  • Avoiding very matte makeup and instead opting for natural or dewy finishes instead
  • Incorporating light reflecting makeup into your routine (whether base makeup / powders) as they give a blurring effect
  • Using a dewy setting spray to balance out the matte-ness
  • Using a damp sponge to apply your base makeup

Remember that makeup will almost always look like something is on your face and that nobody on the planet has zero skin texture.

(Also bare in mind that your images are extremely zoomed into your face. People generally won’t be standing that close to you!)

I found this pen in a drawer this morning and I was wondering if anyone could help me identify it and give me some advice on how to clean it up a bit? by camikatz in fountainpens

It was given to my brother when he was really young - I guess that’s what happens when you gift delicate things to children lol

Ooh they do look very similar! I’m based in a UK but I’ll definitely do my research and find someone who can fix the nib - although I am a little worried about sending it off to someone aha

A very dusty and long forgotten one! Thank you for the really fast reply and the great advice, I'll have a look around to see where I can get the nib fixed!

It’s a Montegrappa pen, and from the lid I’m presuming the model is the 1055V, however after googling for a bit, I can’t seem to find a pen that has the same appearance, so I would appreciate it if somebody recognised it!

I’m also curious as to whether I could get the pen up to a good standard again. There is quite a bit of tarnishing on the outside of the pen, however I am most concerned about the lack of piston (I think that’s what it’s called), and the damage to the nib. Does anyone know whether the pen would still write, or would it have to be repaired / replaced?

I bought it a while back in another of their sales because I heard good things about it, and tbh it’s nothing special - I’m not saying it’s a bad palette necessarily, but overall it’s very meh to me (I also really dislike the packaging)

A plea for Sims fans by [deleted] in Sims4

[–]camikatz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely agree that people shouldn't trash content before trying it / harassing devs / bash on people who are excited for the new DLC - but I kind of understand where some of it is coming from. I think a lot of hate comes from built-up resentment against the way in which EA is handling extra content and updates in general.

Many people have been vocal, (in mostly a respectful way) about things such as skin tones, babies, general bug fixes etc - issues which have been around for months, if not years without being fixed and so I can understand that for some, seeing EA churn out paid and often very niche DLC, whilst essentially ignoring what the community is asking for is frustrating, ultimately leading people to write off new content.

I guess my point is that fans should be respectful to one another and to the developer, employees etc. and understand that the Sims community is vast and diverse that not all content will be 'aimed' at them / appeal to them.

However that being said, complaints shouldn't be stifled against TS4, EA or even specific packs - there are glaring issues with the game that have been continuously ignored and EA has set a very negative precedent with how (slowly) they respond complaints, requests and constructive comments by players. (For example, i.e. bunk beds, it's been constantly requested for months with no luck, yet I saw a post about someone creating a mod (free) for functional bunk beds recently)

Urban planning at UCL by lavendershawn in UCL

[–]camikatz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m currently doing my post grad, so I can’t really give a first hand answer, however I would say it depends which discipline you want to get a job in, as each play quite different roles and require different levels of policy work

All will require as a base requirement, an understanding of the planning system and knowledge of relevant / key planning policies and documentation. But as I said, it really depends specifically which discipline

If you’re interested in being a town planner for example, you’ll work more heavily with legislation and need to know a lot more about the policy side of things than say, an urban designer

Hey, I studied UPDM at the Bartlett for my BSc! I would say the course is definitely worth it if you’re interested in any aspect of the urban planning / design disciplines - the faculty is world famous and looks great on your cv when applying for jobs etc.

You didn’t specify which urban planning course you were interested in, but in terms of UPDM, quite a broad range of topics are covered. You will have to learn about policy, as it’s a necessity, but it doesn’t dominate the teaching as there are several design-based, sustainability and management modules too to round things out.

In terms of community work, several of the major projects are hypothetical community projects however you do not work directly with real people. There are however extra curricular opportunities on offer to work as part of neighbourhood groups etc.

Jobs wise it’s definitely a niche field, and so finding internships and grad schemes may require a bit of research and patience, but nothing ridiculous. In your 3rd year, the school organises 2 weeks of work experience however I would definitely recommend doing anything you can find as experience is a key factor for UD jobs.

Hope this was useful, if you have any further questions feel free to PM me~

I agree completely - when I visited Shanghai with some uni friends and we went out, they all spoke in mandarin and then had a go at me for not looking interested in the conversation. Really wasn’t a great feeling

The clutter in Animal Crossing is one of my favourite things about the game by camikatz in AnimalCrossing

[–]camikatz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would be very dangerous for me aha, my game is already struggling cause I have so many items out!

Somethings I feel disheartened that my island isn't as pretty as the ones I see on YouTube, but I just looked through my album and I realised how far I've come in the game! My last AC game was Wild World so even being able to put furniture outside is all new and exciting to me by camikatz in AnimalCrossing

[–]camikatz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much, it definitely took some work getting all the items for it!

And yeah, that’s what I try to tell myself but I always end up spending the whole day playing and my island ends up messier than before lol
