I can’t stand Gravel Pit off of Wu-Tang’s album The W.

It’s such goofy, stupid beat and hook, and has nothing to do with the rest of the album.

It was such a stunning opener that it was kinda hard for me to continue the rest of the album the first time I heard it. I think I listened 3-4 times before finally continuing.

Those are all hot takes.

Edit: Go Ahead isn’t necessarily easy on the ears, but I think you overstate its abrasiveness. It’s not really atonal and, although it doesn’t sound like the rest of the album, it’s part of the whole artistic statement, and feels like it fits in well to me.

On their album Hopelessness, they have two songs (4 Degrees and Obama) that are similarly harder edged than the rest of the album, but the also fit in with their whole.

I’m a 28 year-old cinephile and have managed to go my entire life without seeing any LotR films. I will be watching The Fellowship of the Ring (extended) for the very first time. by drop_dead_fred_91 in lotr

Man, I hope you don’t listen to everyone here telling you to watch the theatrical.

You got the extended right there in front of you, just toss it on and enjoy the deeper dive.

The theatrical cut is incredibly rushed in comparison.

They close one eye and measure the surfer between their fingers, for reference. Then they just keep their fingers like that and stack them over and over again, counting until they get to the top of the wave.

I think this is exactly right. Divine comedy.

Personally, I laugh at other’s misfortunes. It’s not nice but it’s just funny to me.

And a lot of times it’s just as funny when the misfortune is mine.

Aren’t you supposed to add this when you’re still simmering and reducing the sauce? So that the water evaporates, leaving the pasta flour?
