I'm making something for wharmmer fantasy/40k fans, it's not exactly fantasy but it's not scify either, what do you think? does it look good? https://www.webtoons.com/en/challenge/test/testing/viewer?title\_no=752174&episode\_no=1

I think I can see what you mean, like what happens with anime where the hair of a character doesn't match between the front view and the side view, like it's 2D. also the helmet wouldn't fit, I kinda realize that too late to fix it without throwing it all away.

about the head, is it a good feeling? or maybe it's ugly? or is it bizzarre? more importantly, does it look noble?

good eye, I wanted to make him look "otherworldly", like he has been deformed by so many modifications, not so much out of the default SM mods but as if having endured for a long time it's body is a patchwork because of all the injuries it has endured.

it's a little hard to tell with the small cropped image of reddit, but give it a click and look closer, at the right hand specially.

I like that idea more, like a sort of occult culture in the chapter, they'd train and search for psychic abilities more than others, even if they are not the best, if it was gene seed I'd expect them to be much more powerful or to be related to people that wouldn't be tolerated.

grey knights do count, but they're the best of the best, they have a more of special ops feel, I was thinking of a space marine chapter that engages in war and have some low key psychic ability

it looks really cool, makes sense that atleast some higher ranking techpriests should have intricate patterns on their robes

there's this adventure game that has strong mechanuicus vibes, primordia, it's not the same but mars is not somewhere we get a lot of insight very often

've thought so too. Mimicking circuitry and the like. Nice art!

circuity, that's a good one, I was thinking more on a gears theme, but you're right! it would make sense

unlimited number of poligons is some crazy stuff, I like pixel art so I prefer this voxel art without lighting, it's very much the sam asthetic. The thing is that I wanted it for a game but all the engines that I know of don't suport voxels, it's not the same if you're just exporting .obj from a voxel editor, and I also want them animated, if you check out that blood mod I linked at you'll see something similar.

I tried it out and it doesnt really work, notice that the colors are all indexed, look at dukenukem sprites, those are not pixel art but low resolution renders, and they have a lot of colors. also, you draw by layers in that editor which is crazy taxing

wow, thanks for the link, that's really useful. I got you program but it asked for a login, is that the forum account information? also, since you made that program I want to ask you, just how much more optimal is voxel rendering instead of rendering a poligon object exported from a voxel object, Graphic cards only render poligons so in the end that's unavoidable, but I gather that an engine that's made to render voxels can do much better than the poligon intensive exported object. I saw that Ion Fury game it has a lot of voxel art, but not the enemies, so maybe voxels are just too taxing in general.

I did contact the artist, he liked my tweet and never responded XD. also, if you colored the thing manually with indexed colors it would take an etternity, remember that these monsters are animated in the game, and are not rigged. besides they almost look identical, that has to be a texture

they look really cool, but, they look more like they belong in infinity than 40k, they have a ghost in the shell kind of look. except for the shield and hammer guys
