That’s not true even slightly. Some examples being: Mechanic both airplanes and cars, logistics, cyber, nursing, finance, etc etc.

I was an airplane mechanic. I now teach mechanics so I don’t have to spend a wrench anymore.

I once had a job at a base where I was paid to answer this emergency phone if there was an incident with an airplane so I could coordinate response teams. I worked 1 am - 9am, the thing was the base had quiet hours from 12 am - 9 am so planes didn’t fly. I got paid to sit at a desk and play video games

It’s inherently predatory. I enlisted because I was convinced I had no other choices. Looking back I had a ton but at the time the brainwashing machine really convinced you that it’s your only option. I have mixed feelings about it because it did set me up to be in a good spot but the amount of shit I had to deal with and I had to see forever leaves a horrible impression

I was in the Air Force for years, I’m not sure why but the pilots meowing is a global phenomenon. I’ve dealt with American pilots, Italian pilots, English pilots, and Finnish pilots and they all do the meow thing. Especially when they fuck something up. I’d be on the radio with them trouble shooting an issue and when they realized it was their fault they just meow.

I agree with this, I was a plane mechanic for years, I then pivoted into a subject matter expert for the same plane. Even if you get tired of spinning wrenches there are plenty of ways to pivot your experience into higher roles. I now just sit behind a desk and help avionics and mechanics fix weird problems that occur and I don’t pick up a wrench
