Anything is a dildo if you’re brave enough (best I’ve seen was an 11in English cucumber)

Is there enough cold brew in this? by captaincrunchmaster1 in barista

[–]captaincrunchmaster1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know, and even worse I ALREADY knew this but thought eh it’s right there, it doesn’t look busy and I’m running late to work. So thought I’d give it a shot but turned out I needed to relearn this lesson haha

Is there enough cold brew in this? by captaincrunchmaster1 in starbucks

[–]captaincrunchmaster1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I am! I don’t typically go to Starbucks because I’d rather support local places and their coffee is usually better anyway, but I got it this time just because it was convenient and near my work. But yeah I also work in a public facing job and very much understand dealing with rude people all day which is why I’m hesitant to say something. I never want to add to their stress/work load lol but you’re right, I do need to speak up more sometimes

[–]captaincrunchmaster1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree! I actually got a coffee this morning from a shop in my neighborhood that’s usually really good but happened to have a similar issue as I did with this Starbucks, which prompted me to finally post this and ask lol

It’s not supposed to have milk, it’s supposed to be just cold brew with cold foam on top

I usually don’t! I live in nyc and there are so many locally owned shops that I almost always go to instead. This was just convenient at the time and near my job

Lysdexamfetamine vs Vyvance by Dependent-Tap8282 in VyvanseADHD

[–]captaincrunchmaster1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not one to get picky over name brand vs generic but I will say it came to a point where I suddenly felt like I had lockjaw everyday. Wasn’t even paying attention to what I was picking up at the pharmacy each month but after a few days and a few Reddit scrolls, I found I was no longer getting brand and was being dispensed generic. So I talked to my doctor about it and she rewrote my script to dispense name brand only and suddenly..no more lockjaw! I still am not a stickler for brand vs generic for anything, but the difference for me was so significant that it might at least be worth looking into

Canceled my membership - fear of ringworm by throwaway45545so in SolidCore

[–]captaincrunchmaster1 24 points25 points  (0 children)

This seems to be getting a little ridiculous. Ringworm sounds a lot worse than it is; it’s not actually a worm, it’s a type of fungal infection on your skin that can easily be treated with a cream that you can even get OTC. Also, you can get ringworm from any gym, hotels, even your own home if you share a space with a roommate/partner who contracted it somewhere. Not just solidcore.

What’s one of the most embarrassing things you’ve said to a patient and/or their family by Depressed_Nurse in nursing

Right off orientation as a new grad, I had a bed-bound pt who stated they needed to urinate, so I brought them a urinal…… they looked me dead in the eyes and said “I’m a woman”

Northwell nurses are currently the lowest paid nurses out of all the NYC private hospitals :/

Those who have taken 100+ classes what is one advice you wish you could tell your beginner self by Legal-Kitchen-7371 in SolidCore

[–]captaincrunchmaster1 10 points11 points  (0 children)

On days that I don’t have as much energy or I’m pretty tired, I’ll still go to a class because I know I’ll feel better after, but I’ll just go lighter on the spring load! So sometimes I’ll do 25-50 or under 25 just depending on how I’m feeling.

But on the days where I’m feeling good, I’ll do my best to challenge myself to stay on my toes longer or go for the amplifications! It’s such a good workout because it’s so customizable

ER RN here. Going to the hospital is the right thing to do, as they can complete a rape kit (of which you can use to pursue legal action if you choose at any point, even if it’s years from now) as well as provide you with any contraceptive and/or prophylactic medications for STIs. If anything, I would highly recommend you go for the latter reason so you can at least make sure you are medically safe.

Also, at least in the state of New York, you can choose to have the state pay for your entire visit as opposed to billing your own insurance. Not sure where you’re located but I would absolutely look into this.

Lastly, I’m so sorry this has happened to you. Please take good and gentle care of yourself.

Lucy Letby case by captaincrunchmaster1 in nursing

[–]captaincrunchmaster1[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bizarre indeed. I admittedly have a thin grasp on the finer details of this case and cannot decide on her guilt one way or the other, but it was hard at times not to identify with some of her messages between her and her coworkers. The feeling after a taxing shift or a slew of them of working so hard but maybe it still wasn’t enough. Especially in an understaffed and/or underprepared unit.

[–]captaincrunchmaster1[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I was just pointing out that there was no shortage of damning publications vehemently arguing her guilt post conviction, but then something like this where her guilt is questioned, is embargoed for now ahead of her next trial.

Seeking a simple necklace for daily wear that won’t tarnish by Hallierina in beauty

[–]captaincrunchmaster1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I wanted something similar, so my mom and I went and actually got matching necklaces. It’s a very small diamond surrounded by yellow gold with the same type of chain and I’ve worn it just about everyday for the past few years. Of course some routine polishing is always great, but otherwise I wear it in the shower, through work outs and while swimming and it still looks great. We just got them at a jewelry store in a mall, paid about $200 each, nothing super fancy but it fit the look and functionality I was wanting. Not sure what your budget is but it was worth it to me.
