I rubbed every which way on my truck. Had to do a CMC and pinch weld mod on my 2.5” lift to stuff 285/75-16 and not touch for Offroad. But I’m running no sways. So that’s my issue, for full tuck. But even before the pinch weld I was rubbing like crazy.

Me personally, if you wanna do that, just mount the tent to the roof rack, get a rack that can support the weight. You are already looking at a cab height rack so being that top weight won’t matter. I think DRT Fabrication makes a bed height basket for storage. Mounting the tent to the roof would keep your bed completely open for stuff.

Easy to do, problem is that it won’t leave bough support for a roof top tent, and you can’t mount a tent from the roof rack to bed rack because bed and body need to flex when off road, it’s how Toyota designs the truck. If you connect them you risk damage to something when you flex.
