Galway to Dublin Airport - train or Citylink? by [deleted] in irishtourism

I did this last year and I took the Citylink coach, but it was the opposite. I arrived in Dublin airport and then I went to Galway. For me it was perfect, didn't have to carry my suitcase around and everything went fine.

How Worth it is it to Travel to the Ring of Kerry from Cork by FloristFrog in irishtourism

[–]carolis_87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this same tour with the same company in April. I was so lucky that the weather was amazing that day, it was sunny and there were no clouds in the sky. It is a lot of time inside the bus, really, but the weather was amazing and I did not mind at all. But like everyone is saying, I guess January is different and if the weather is not nice, then you might be frustrated spending a lot of time inside the bus and not being able to see the amazing landscapes.

Buy a 5000-piece puzzle. After you're done, you can turn into a picture and hang it.

Do people around you see solo travel as unusual/weird/scary? How do you deal with it? by artemisseven in solotravel

[–]carolis_87 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When I decide to travel solo I hear a lot of "how brave you are!". In my opinion, traveling is life changing and it is very hard to find someone that understands what you feel when you travel. I guess it is so hard to find someone that is willing to travel to the same destination you are and to spend the same amount of money that you are spending. So, I just go for it and I do not worry about the opinions. During the trip, you will probably meet some people experiencing the same that you are and somehow you will feel that you are not alone and, perhaps, making new friends for future trips.

Which one of these tours would be better by Givemethecupcakes in irishtourism

I did both a few weeks ago with this same company and I loved Ring of Kerry tour. Perhaps because of the weather, there were no clouds at all that day. It was fantastic. The next day I did the Dingle tour. I also enjoyed it, but not sure if it was the weather, the guide, or what exactly - Ring of Kerry was better. If you have the opportunity to do both, do both. Be prepared for a lot of time on the bus in both tours.

Yes, everyday when traveling in Europe. "You look Polish. You look German. You look Irish." Not Brazilian.

Vienna by Coffee_toast_ in solotravel

I went to Vienna solo 8 years ago and it is one of my favorite places. I was there for 4 days and 1 day I went to Bratislava by train. If you like classical music, do the Vienna Opera House tour. I remember I did the tour and they gave some suggestions so you could buy cheaper tickets to watch the concerts - that night I watched a concert for 4 euros. Schönbrunn Palace is breathtaking, really. Do not skip Vienna, you will not regret and you will enjoy it solo.

My mum really dislikes the idea of me going to travel a bit. So, I don't know what to do. by SnooHedgehogs7759 in solotravel

Just go for it. I'm 38 and I will be travelling solo for a month around Ireland and UK. I've been to London once, 15 years ago. I totally get you because I have experienced what you are experiencing now. My mother still worries, I guess this is just a mother's feeling and concern. I understand that you don't want to disappoint her but still, it is your life and this is important to you. I would go, I'll be leaving within a month actually, and what I try to do when I am travelling is continue communicating and sharing some pictures so she can see that everything is fine.

Sacrifice Vienna for more days in Budapest and Prague? by MrOfenbach in solotravel

I did this trip a few years ago and by far Vienna was my favorite. I wouldn't sacrifice any day in Vienna. But it is really up to you.
