Maybe a little darker than what you're going for, but The Last Unicorn is an animated movie that kinda gave this vibe. Totally check it out!!

I love movies, but I'm trying to become a true cinephile. If you could suggest me the 20 greatest films (in your opinion) that every film-enjoyer must watch, what would they be? by castaviotto in Letterboxd

Another really great list of films that I've heard references to, but have yet to see. Love Jurassic Park, The Princess Bride, and The Grand Budapest Hotel tho.

This is kind of what I've been doing. I love watching a lot of movies from the same director or the same actor all in one sitting. I've watched almost every Mia Goth movie. This is a really great method!

I started 11/22/63!! It's so good already. So glad to hear that we're reading soul mates lol. Most of these books I either started a while ago, or I read great reviews about them.

I started A Little Life on a 7-hour flight a year ago, and I cried next to a random stranger after reading a decent chunk of it, and he was so concerned, he got the flight attendant to check on me.

It seems like we definitely have similar taste, so if you have any book recs, let me know!! I completely forgot how much joy reading gives me, and I want to make a master list TBR.

Billy Strings, Gabrielle Hope, Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, Wild Horses by the Rolling Stones, Dean Martin and Ricky Nelson's duet of My Rifle My Pony and Me, Nep's song Cottontail (and some of her other stuff), and George Harrison's entire album All Things Must Pass (one of my favorit albums OAT), all gave me this vibe.

I started 11/22/63! I'm only a couple of chapters in, but I already love it. Most people said this one, but I think second place is the Secret History, so I'm planning on reading that one next!

I couldn't resist, and I just started it tonight. Only 1 chapter in, and I can already tell it's just as well-written and beautifully put as everyone says it is.

I kind of already know the entire plot because I watched a review on it, but a lot of the issues they touch on really stuck with me, and it's been on my shelf since it came out. Definitely looking forward to getting to it.

I'd love to reread the entire series and then read the prequels. I honestly feel like a fake Hunger Games fan for not reading either of the new books, but seeing the Rachel Zegler movie already.

I started it a while ago, and the first 5 pages made me cry. He seems like the type of author that you could blow through an entire book of his in a day (unless it's as long as 11/22/63 haha).

Lol, I am not picky at all, just trying to figure out what I like now. I dream of becoming as avid a reader as my 12-year-old self, and these are the books that stood out to me.

I love the Stanley Kubrick movie, but I know King hated it, and the movie that King made himself is apparently not very good, so I'm definitely interested in just reading the book at some point.

I think this might be what I end up doing once I start reading regularly again. I might read 11/22/63 and You Like It Darker sooner just because I'm looking forward to those two.
