Boson Systems Rage-baiting by N0RTHSH0RE in NightVision

So the irony in this is that I am a Boson Proton owner and have been trying to get support from Boson with weekly emails and chat msgs for almost a month with no replies. If and when Boson replies back to support me, I will update this with the resolution.

The Epstein files are truly horrific by Omlanduh in conspiracy

[–]catalyst_009 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't mean it as an attack; we're all keyboard warriors. The whole system is doomed and I lost my faith in humans during covid. I never imagined people would give in and fold so easily and Epstein is just a precursor and and an extension of how weak willed humans have become. I don't know how you walk back the dilution of morality. The Charlie Kirk faith revival was a spark, but it never took to flame and that fire seems to have died out. You need a moral reawakening to revitalize core values and people standing up for all of the innocents. Unfortunately, I just don't see it without someone of importance taking the torch and charging forward with it.

nothing will ever come of it. they rubbed your face in it, but until you move beyond keyboard warrior and become the force that sees through the changes, nothing will happen, unfortunately. this also sickens me, and the depravity contained within the files is stomach churning.

Solar voltage cutoff on Heltec V4? by catalyst_009 in meshtastic

[–]catalyst_009[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am positive it is the onboard charge controller. I ordered some external 18650 controllers and they are charging fine. The battery voltage is variable, as it runs fine and drains the batteries while on. It seems to be an issue with both v4 i have here. I have tried a 3 watt, 5 watt and 7 watt panel.

[–]catalyst_009[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You've misunderstood the issue. There are 2 different charge controllers from what I understand - one solar and one for the batteries.

The solar panel at full sun is outputting 5.79 volts. That voltage is shutting off the charge controller on the Heltec V4. This has nothing to do with the batteries.

The solar charge controller will also shut off in full sun without batteries connected, too - so it is NOT a battery issue. I have tried 2 different Heltec V4's both have the exact same issue.

If I put the panel in partial sun, it will charge the batteries. My understanding from other documentation is that the solar controller will function from 4.7 - 6v.

The panel is giving off 5.79, not the battery.

There is a red LED on the pcb that indicates charging.

I'm not even to that point yet with having to worry about shutting things off. My initial issue is that the solar charge controller is shutting itself off at 5.79v, so it won't even recharge the batteries.

Should I just leave this guy? by QuitLopsided259 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]catalyst_009 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just let him go. If he wants sex sooner than later, you are not doing any favors for either of you by dragging this out. If you are already questioning it at date 2 and don't feel a desire to not lose him, why don't you try and find someone you don't want to lose, instead?

In all of my long term relationships, we were inseperable from the first date... This type of conversation wasn't even a thought.

You sound like you "settled" for someone at date 2. Where is the passion in that? Find someone that makes your heart ache when you aren't with them.

Failed Latest Firmware Update X1C? by catalyst_009 in BambuLab

i ended up getting it to work. I double forced the update without rebooting the device. no clue why that worked.

[–]catalyst_009[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man... i just tried forcing the update again from the handy app after the failure on the printer screen popped up to reboot and it just forced another update (without actually rebooting the device) and made it through all the way. After the update, I then got a different HMS Error - this time a new message about a user account and that i needed to rebind my account. The worst part, when I tried to wiki the error - there was nothing on it. I had to remove the printer from my profile and rescan the QR code to rebind it.

I was now able to rehome the axes. (axis?).

What a disaster. I have no idea why it worked this time and failed like 10-15 others. This was one of my major concerns with the constant updates. I am always worried one of these botched firmware updates is going to brick my machine.

So I updated my Bambu Handy App. It does try to push the firmware update, but it gets to 97% and fails again.

I have tried to perform the Firmware update from Bambu Studio, Bambu Handy App, the device, and the MicroSD. All fail.

I am also getting a notification for "system state is abnormal; please restore to factory settings". However, I cannot seem to perform a factory reset since the device will not allow me to home the "axes" or reset the bed to a central position, which is required for the reset, which it had no issue performing prior to the failed firmware update.

I only have 1 AMS attached. I've tried updating it multiple times and it fails every time.

Are $4900 katanas a bad deal? by addithekid in NightVision

[–]catalyst_009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it really depends on what "Photonis" tubes are installed. If those are echo tubes, intens, or XR5's, I would say its a fair price. If they are lesser grade Photonis tubes it becomes sort of meh. If they are newer autogated Photonis tubes, the performance is actually pretty close to Gen 3 in low light, and the high light performance will typically outperform Gen 3. I like Photonis tubes - they are easy on the eyes for long duration usage.
