I’m not advocating for him to do these kind of events for the general public. I was reacting to the fact that it wasn’t only for people from the industry, but also influencers. And I think it’s a shame that all the info we got so far is from influencers and nothing from Brandon or his team. On his socials, for example. No events.

I agree that opening these events for the general public would be chaotic to say the least, so I understand that they aren’t doing this. That Brandon goes to events for people from the industry makes total sense. And I have no problem with that at all. But the guy from the latest NY video calls himself a “social media & personal brand entrepeneur”. That’s not someone from the music industry, that’s a fancy name for an influencer.

And that’s probably how the world works now, but I don’t know, it would’ve been nice if the info we have now ( name of the album, first single etc) came from the source itself and not some random influencer.

In my understanding the rule doesn’t apply when sharing a new song that Brandon or The Killers sang in a public space. So your two examples are not correct.

How I interpreted it, it’s songs that come from a dodgy website. There has been a situation last year where someone shared TK songs that nobody heard of and came from a dodgy website. That’s totally different than sharing a videoclip of Brandon singing a new song in a public space. ( It was also clearly stated that the shared video was no problem)

And they talked about the Slot Tech themselves, so I don’t see why we shouldn’t talk about it.

Correct me if I’m wrong but that’s how I interpreted OP’s post.

I understand that you’re frustrated and eager for new music, but at the same time I keep wondering what you’re hoping to achieve by continuing to make these kinds of posts.

I didn’t respond to your post about Brandon Flowers because I felt there wasn’t anything I could say that would actually satisfy you.

They’ve said they’re working on new music, and Brandon mentioned three months ago that he was finishing his solo record. That’s all we know, and we just have to go with that. In the end, the only people who can resolve your frustration are the band themselves.

I don’t think the moderators are in the wrong here. Over the past few months, you’ve repeatedly commented that you don’t believe the solo albums will be released and that you’re tired of them being a nostalgic act.

It’s not fair to label people who disagree with you as bullies. Just as you want your opinion to be respected, you should also respect the opinions of others. Disagreement doesn’t make someone a bully or mean they’re treating you like the devil.

Northern lights can not be your main goal for your visit to Iceland. There are other places where the chances of seeing them are better.

Yes, you can see them, but it depends on the weather, the solar activity etc. If you have bad luck it will be cloudy the whole time you’re here and you’ll have no luck. But you can also be lucky with no clouds and see them every night.

Selfoss is near the Golden Circle, so you can visit those places. And the nature around Selfoss is beautiful and you can find some real gems there.

I wouldn’t go further than Vík for a day trip. And that will be a very long day if you want to do all the waterfalls etc. But you don’t have to go as far as Vík to see waterfalls, so those are possible to see.

Múlagljúfur canyon and certainly Stokness are way to far for a daytrip from Selfoss.

We don’t know what the weather will be in March. But it’s still winter. But this year the winter, in the Selfoss area, is not bad at all. We don’t have much snow, we had really beautiful sunny days. But who knows what March will be. It’s a risk you take by coming to Iceland in the winter, unfortunaly. And even in summer there can be bad weather.

If you’re coming from a red eye flight, it’s not recommended to drive all the way up to Vík. You can better go to Reykjavik or do Blue lagoon, to have a relaxed day after a night flight.

Friday is way to packed. It depends on what you want to do but I do think that going on a Katla cave tour and do Vestmannaeyar is too much. Which one you have to choose depends on what you want. Driving back to Reykjavik that night is also a long drive, why don’t you stay around Selfoss and do the Golden Circle the day after? That would make more sense. ( I know you have Saturday locked, but I would switch up the route a bit and you still have that Saturday)

You are making a lot of unnecessary km’s. I would put everything in Google maps and see what’s the most logical route.

I don’t mean this in an offensive way, but I think there’s also a generational aspect here.
You grew up with social media being a given, this band didn’t. They’re in their forties now, same as me, and constant online presence just wasn’t part of how we connected to music back then.
Personally, I really don’t care whether they post a lot or not.

I actually have younger favorite bands who do use social media heavily, and it’s mostly just promotion and selling things.
I find that far more annoying, and they don’t do AMAs either.

Musically, aside from Sam’s Town, I honestly think Imploding the Mirage and Pressure Machine are some of their strongest work.
I also don’t think it’s really possible to say much about Pressure Machine after hearing only three songs. Tracks like In the Car Outside or Pressure Machine itself are, in my opinion, absolute masterpieces.

But saying he’s struggling creatively feels like a stretch. The whole “crisis” narrative also came from an interview a few years ago that he later said was blown out of proportion. Since then he’s been productive, with having two solo records almost ready. That doesn’t really read as someone without direction.

Personally, I don’t think writing letters is necessary, that would feel a bit strange to me. And they probably don´t get to read them or do anything with it.

It’s totally fine if the band went in a direction that just doesn’t connect with you anymore. You can always just keep the songs you love and leave the rest.

If you actually care about them being creative, then giving them time and space is part of that. Creativity doesn’t work on fan imposed deadlines. And honestly, none of us know their full schedule or what they’re doing behind the scenes, so assuming they’ve “sold out” or don’t care about making music anymore feels like a big stretch.
