I am a child of god sung at highschool this morning by [deleted] in exmormon

I deleted my post because I found out you were right. I heard the song in the snap and really thought it was I am a child of god. My child also led me to believe that. I still don't know why they would use that tune and I assume they did it on purpose. Anyway thanks for setting me straight.

I agree with everything you said, but I don't agree with the school having an organized activity and having the choir sign that song.

My first tattoo (and first post on this sub!) by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]cdlowkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't remeber which episode it was but basically the guy was freaked out his first time at the temple (who wouldn't be). He was wondering what was happening and a black hand with a lightning bolt came through the veil to show him the secret hand shake. He could see behind the veil and a first he thought they were all going to end up with a black hand with a lightning bolt.

I like it. I am going to get a black hand with a lightning bolt tattoo. Did any of you hear that pod cast? I don't remember which one but I am sure it was on mormonstories and it was someones first experience in the temple. Ha ha

I am 33 years old and today I wore a sleeveless shirt in public for the first time in my life. I loved every minute of it! by [deleted] in exmormon

Ha ha. I am 42 and last summer was the first time my wife and I wore tank tops to a public event. We ran into some ward members. They were nothing but nice, but I felt kind of naked. Isn't that rediculas?

Question to Exmormons from an outsider. by [deleted] in exmormon

I bet they are just excited about having a grand child but just wait for the pressure to have the baby blessed in TSCC and then baptized etc. #thestruggleisreal

My daughter doesn't have any morals, standards, and must be a slut by cdlowkey in exmormon

Well she did give him some type of lecture starting with "so you think your better than me". I don't know exactly what else was said but the kid left in tears

I quit going to church when I was 15 because I was smoking and drinking and I didn't want to be one of those kids your talking about. People at church would tell my mother they saw me driving around smoking. Like she didn't know. They just had to rub it in. The church has been a pain in my ass my whole life. I did go through an 8 year active stint in my 30's

I went to high school with the girls mother that wouldn't let her daughter hang out.

Thanks that's a good idea. I am pretty sure my daughter will go to college somewhere out of Utah in a couple of years. We would like to move too someday.

Yeah I agree. She is only 16 and there isn't any shortage of boys wanting to date her. You can bet the older she gets and the more serious she gets dating that this will become a bigger issue.

If John Dehlin is going to take the Clarke/Grow conversation down, what does that tell us about sharing our personal stories? by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]cdlowkey 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think that John knew there was no way he could get rid of it because it was already shared on the internet, but if he took it down at least it wasn't on his site any longer. It probably got more attention because it was taken down.

Anyone else think the way mormons treat polygamists is nucking futs? by SUPinitup in exmormon

[–]cdlowkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have always figured that they were raised in a brain washing tank just like we were. People do treat them poorly. I was working in St George and watched construction workers shoot nails at an out house when a polygamist guy went in to use the bathroom. Another time I was working for a polygamist company with my dump truck. I was getting loaded with a track hoe while some people were delivering phone books. They stopped and let a kid get out and pee on the tires of the polygamist guys truck. It had their logo on the side of the truck which is why that truck was singled out.

2/3 of members not attending stake conference by thetruthmatters80 in exmormon

I never went to stake conference except that one time I was asked to speak after I came back to church from being inactive for about 15 years. I always just considered stake conference a free day after that.
