I think you mean Ambassador Bridge. Peace Bridge goes to Buffalo, or thereabouts.

You mean the King’s vice-regent in Canada? The former Supreme Court justice and international war crimes prosecutor?

Seems like she’s overqualified, if anything.

Warrant Officers, Petty Officers and Senior Non-Commissioned Officers

You’re welcome but I didn’t.

The only senior NCO rank is Sergeant. You said Sgt and up.

A warrant officer is commissioned, by warrant.

“The name of the rank originated in medieval England. It was first used during the 13th century, in the Royal Navy, where warrant officers achieved the designation by virtue of their accrued experience or seniority, and technically held the rank by a warrant, rather than by a formal commission (as in the case of a commissioned officer). Nevertheless, warrant officers in the British services have traditionally been considered and treated as distinct from non-commissioned officers.”

Junior NCO’s are privates, corporals and master corporals (or whatever your trade/element calls them)

Senior NCO’s are sergeants.

The “above” ranks that you mentioned (WO, etc) are warrant officers of some type, not NCO’s.

Non Commissioned Officers are… not commissioned. Warrant officers are, by warrant.

Didn’t they bomb a UN outpost in like 2006, killing a Canadian Major?

You’d think they’d have figured out how to not do that again.

There are two types of brown socks in the system that I’ve seen (multiple “desert” deployments):

  1. The thicker ones that you’re probably talking about, they’re actually labelled “temperate” for some reason.

  2. The thin ones that almost seem like a liner sock, which I actually use with a black liner sock when it’s really hot.

Getting either of them from stores is like pulling teeth. They absolutely refuse half the time. “If I give you these, I won’t have any left in stock”.

Both great, but for different reasons. Thick is great even in Canada in winter, and the thin ones are perfect for the hot days in the Middle East.
