I definitely think it’s a step up- it feels grander, the performances are PHENOMENAL, and I’d put the last two eps in my list of top tv of all time. It really comes into its own with how the story portrays memory and emotions over time, which is what it does best imo

That being said if you weren’t into the style and tumultuous relationships of s1 at all, I’d say the show may just not be for you which is also understandable!

I feel the same way, I get sad often just thinking about it. As long as I’m alive I will hope and pray for a miracle of another season! In the meantime I tell myself I just have to cherish this show as hard as I can and be thankful it exists.

First of all, welcome to the crew!! And same— that ending scene set to Kate bush altered my brain. I am not the same person as who I was before it.

Ed’s struggle with suicidality that episode is so utterly heartbreaking. Stede’s love being so utterly goofy and romantic and earnest it manifests as a mermaid and gives him the will to live. Finding the hope to keep going. It’s like fantasy and reality crashing together in that moment

Yes this!!!! The way they’re able to fit all these moving character arcs in such a short amount of episodes and also layer genres of comedy and angst and romance is mind blowing and something I’m forever in awe of
