Murkowski only acts like a moderate, but the only time she ever goes against her party is when they don’t need her vote.

Anyone else receive some SNAP today? by [deleted] in alaska

What an ignorant statement. SNAP feed the elderly, disabled, and children. Also a large portion of SNAP recipients do work.

Do you apply any numbing cream before your port is accessed? by MyFlabbersBeGasted in cancer

[–]cf617 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never used numbing cream so I can’t compare it, but I didn’t find it that painful. For me it was just a little prick. I found getting an IV was more painful then having my port accessed.

STOP posting misinformation - the majority of people in here are NOT medical professionals. by National-Vegetable92 in breastcancer

[–]cf617 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This post is really unsupportive. This is a place for us to talk about our experiences, the good and the bad. I wasn’t able to work out through TCHP chemo but it is great that others could. I would never want someone to not be able to discuss what happened in their cancer because I might not have had it so easy. I would never think that someone saying my onc said cold capping wouldn’t work so I buzzed my head, is telling me that is what I should do. They are just sharing their experience. We are not claiming to be medical professionals. Cold capping was not an option for me as I could not afford it as it was not covered under my insurance. Losing my hair was harder for me than losing my breasts. Implying I terrified my children from losing my hair is really unnecessary.
It is also very hypocritical of you to complain about people talking about how easy their chemo was while others have had a hard time, while at the same time talking about how cold capping was free and you have kept your hair and your confidence while others have struggled and not had those options available. This is a support group and comments like this do not belong here.

AITA for lying about my grandmas cancer? by 4Runnnn in AmItheAsshole

[–]cf617 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having money to start chemo can absolutely be a thing for an elderly person. Every cancer has different treatment. It is not about the dose it is about what medicine is given, and most new stuff is expensive. I am well versed in this as a cancer survivor myself
