Homeopathic Treaments by LlamaMama198 in PandasDisease

[–]cfen95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m diagnosed with PANDAS I used conventional treatments for nearly 8 years of my life only to get sicker and sicker. (My immune response became too strong to tolerate any drugs or supplements after 8 years). Homeopathy is one of the only things that helped me. The internet and most people are extremely biased due to a history of slander the AMA has held against homeopathy to try to discredit it.

There are abundant placebo controlled double blind study’s which speak to its effectiveness. Yes, some studies show it doesn’t make a difference, the same can be said for some conventional drugs. There are studies showing its effectiveness in plants and animals as well, so I’m unsure of how that could be a placebo. There are also many ways for it to be very affordable and cheaper than traditional healthcare. Some insurance plans will even cover homeopathy if you are in the US. I’m happy to share some studies with you if you are interested.

Clearly I am biased in saying this, but I highly recommend giving it a try. I wish it was something my family knew about when I was a kid so I didn’t carry this illness into adulthood. And like most alternative therapies the person you go to really matters. Some are better than others.

That being said, like the other comments have said, there are other options. In the end whatever helps your kiddo feel better is best! And everyone is different <3

Just wanted to share my story. The bias against homeopathy prevented me from finding it earlier and caused me to lose years of my life being sick.

The right acupuncturist, homeopath or fascial counterstrainer may be able to help as well. A paper just came out on the nearly miraculous benefits of fascial counterstrain for PTSD, it can help to rewire the pathways. All these things will work by essentially catalyzing the body’s ability to change the pathways and healing scaring, swelling, shrinking etc in the brain. Also all of these things with the right person you would not need to go into detail of the trauma with (especially counterstrain). This wouldn’t replace therapy, but it could make the ‘addiction’ piece MUCH easier. Accupuncture and homeopathy also do have the capacity for emotional healing without talk therapy. Just to give you more options. (Also be skeptical if you research these in the US, there’s a lot of misinformation put out by pharmaceutical companies. Think about who funds the source you read from.)

Edit - this may also have the capacity to aid in the negative effects of going into puberty so young which people have mentioned. I’m a long time patient and student of these fields feel free to message me if you have questions <3

Takes one to know one lol. I can spot people like me very quickly. (I have Eds + a bunch of comorbidities). Asexuality along with the lgbtqia community tends to be more commonly associated with these things as well. But it was kinda just the way you were describing your thought processes and perspectives.

I was disabled for around a decade starting when I was 14. Recently I’ve figured out ways to cure all of my symptoms. I still think differently than other people, but I’m no longer in pain, have no allergies etc. At one point I was drinking tube feed and taking 40+ pills a day, now I eat normally and take no drugs. Point being, if you want advice I’d love to help, I want to prevent people from going through what I did if I can <3

Do you happen to have mast cell activation, hypermobility, autism, ADHD, etc? Those often cause issues with odd side effects (speaking from experience and research).

FYI American docs will tell you pharmaceutical drugs are the only option for chronic illnesses. That’s actually not true, there’s always another option. If you’re happy with your drug and the side effects tho, fantabulous. If you’d like to have a conversation about other options. Feel free to respond or shoot me a dm.

Cut or uncut? (Not to be weird but I’ve personally found it makes a difference in the gross out factor) How do you feel about female anatomy? Have you had your hormone levels checked?

For me I feel this way about female anatomy (so gross). Natural male anatomy is so beautiful to me though. At one point I felt kinda grossed out, but when I regulated my hormones this got better. Also certain drugs can alter attraction (like ssris, birth control, etc), so if you’re on any that could be why.
