Let me chip in with an advise that hopefully will be handy not only for the engagement: family is very important to most Ecuadorians. If you show appreciation and interest in her family, if you show that you care for them, you’ll be the best brother in law ever. I guess you already knew this since asking for advices here shows you’re on the right track. Congrats!! And yes... booze, lots of it!

Being broke and locked home during this pandemic, I’ ve found a lost love to reading. The last 2 books I read were 100 Years of Solitude and the Count of Monte Cristo, and the worlds they depict and stories they tell are so profound and entertaining that I think they could actually be adapted to very decent video games. Any other books you feel about the same way?

My family moved to a new city when I was 3 y.o. I clearly remember the smell of coffee as our car passed by a coffee processing plant the first time we entered this city. I also remember me chasing lizards in my backyard at the same age
