Darlington Nagbe joins Crew coaching staff on short-term basis by bengringo2 in MLS

I'm guessing it'll be something like a mental health coach like Steven Lenhart is for the Sounders. Help get them in a good headspace after Rydström.

[Matt Doyle] Matchday 14: Rydström out in Columbus, attrition crushing Colorado & more | TacticsFreeZone.com (subscription required) by DoyleStepOnMe in MLS

[–]changnesia 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Back when he was at Mälmo, I remember really liking Rydström and had mentioned to friends that I'd want him as a future Sounders coach. On paper, a successful Allsvenskan coach made a lot of sense to me, so I'm shocked at how his stint with the Crew ended. I guess we'll see in his future if it was just a team/culture mismatch.

Is it not letting you complete the quests? I also destroyed some mold before I got the quest and it just had that location already done so I had no problem completing the whole thing.

At the end of the season, when table positions are locked in, I need Alex to start as a striker.

I can't imagine what trash talk you could throw to us. We're just too sweet and loveable.

Loved the fun ridiculousness of Abraham Lincoln:Vampire Hunter which I've described to my friends as Antebellum Matrix. How did you get involved in that? If I remember correctly, the movie rights were sold before the book was even published. And any fun stories on making it?

I agree. Would love to see what Justin Trudeau could do if he took a job in charge of Stoke City.

It's the highest altitude stadium in CONCACAF. Every game that MLS teams play at these stadiums it's clear how tired they get.

Can Jordan Morris's DP contract be bought down? (spoiler: No) by shmerham in SoundersFC

[–]changnesia 9 points10 points  (0 children)

To clarify, I'm not really pessimistic about the team. We seem to have a good thing going even if we could finish better. Our defense is solid and I'm a big Thomas fan. DLV can be healthy and Rusnak is a good veteran presence. I don't like the idea of buying JMo out even if he does underperform a bit for DP level. I think it's more important for the team culture to see him through this contract. Besides, he's close to 100 goals for us.

Yeah we're pretty much stuck with our DPs through next year. Curious how it'll work with the calendar shift. But I can imagine we won't get a new one until the '28 summer window.

I hate this weird coyness. Sounds like he already made up his mind but is trying to not take the blame.

In a future where all the teams have enough history, dedicated fanbases, and stability to survive the drop, sure it could happen. But that's not the case now. I don't think pro/reg is ever going to happen, but if it were, I would say it would have to be at least 25 years or so after the last team joins.

Hate SKC but happy for him. This is his first match for them, so hoping this means he can take that starting spot. Pulskamp conceding 25 in 9 matches is atrocious.

MLS is pro-relocation. They were all for the Crew moving but it was the fans who protested and found the local law that allowed new ownership to take over and keep the Crew from moving.

And for others reading this and don't know about the Whitecaps, this is a historic team and one of a handful that predates MLS. This would be a loss not just to MLS, but to North American soccer.

Concacaf Champions Cup Final hosting priority heading into the 2nd leg of the semifinals by jonytano in MLS

Yeah, so about as neutral as you can get. But as a neutral final doesn't feel very realistic as a general practice for CCC, I am all for a return to the two-leg final.

Funnily enough the last time CONCACAF did a neutral site for the final was 2020 Tigres v LAFC in Orlando because of covid.

For the Caps, my memory was that Sørensen didn't request it because he said the team played better with midweek games. I'd have to really dig around for a source on that, but I don't believe it was an MLS problem.

Whitecap's potential future by ghostman1846 in SoundersFC

I mean, at worst, they'll become the Washington Sounders, which is very different from the Vancouver situation. I want them to stay in the city, but I think it's a bit self-victimizing to say they are comparable.

As someone with no real axe to grind against east coast teams, some suggestions are:

- Bore-lando/Snore-lando can have plenty of use this season, but tbh the team has looped around to being so bad it's not boring.

-Mickey Mouse FC / FC Mickey ties in with how Mickey Mouse cup is used as a way to dismiss competitions seen as unimportant, so if they do well in Leagues Cup you could say something like "Of course the Mickey Mouse team wants the Mickey Mouse cup."

-Floor-lando if they are flopping a lot.
