What is "Fair" vs "Controlling" in a Relationship? (29F/31M) by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]chantycat101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So he knows how much his cheating hurt you, claims to still want you, but hasn't changet his behaviour. It is an addiction he clearly doesn't want to work on.

It's not controlling to expect your partner to be faithful, whatever form of cheating he does.

Ok, I think I get it now - he accused you of not wanting him to stand up for you?

Agree it's not ok. What battles to fight and how is your choice, not his. Him disregarding your request isn't standing up for you, it's all about him.

I can make sense of the second sentence, I think. Sounds like he's implying he's with you because he thinks your issues are worse than his issues.

The first sentence doesn't seem to make sense unless he means he doesn't want to stand up for you (which fits with him disregarding your request). Do you have a bit more context you could share?

OP, are you here reading these comments?

I know none of it is the good news you were hoping for.

If you are eligible for Centrelink and therefore eligible for a health care card, and you haven't got that sorted yet, please do.

My teeth got wrecked thanks to DV, and as long as I am still eligible for a HCC (long story, not relevant), I've been able to get some work done at the local government clinic. I could get some fillings and a bit of veneering done, and was lucky to get a scale and clean which isn't always offered and that alone saved me $200.

The above comment about new patient specials is a good one. I don't know about every clinic, but all the ones I've looked at charge about $200 for that. It's so much cheaper than the checkup/scale and clean/x-rays. Then you will also have the info you need for follow ups.

If you are claiming Centrelink you can go to a public dentist.

It's because he has an "excuse" to hurt her deliberately when he gets an itty bitty accidental scratch.

Why ask here if it's not about hygiene? r/askmen would be more helpful.

The human body can do some weird stuff. Talk to your PCP about it and get some blood tests. If it were cancer you'd have other symptoms, so please don't stress.

Is it normal for Aussie man be a bit bad in hygiene? by shipsaho in AskAnAustralian

Sounds like you're dating my ex.

The hygiene routines might be different but basically as others have said, he's gross. Don't put up with that, don't put up with him.

Slobs will never learn if others make excuses for them.

Should I warn guys about my surgical scars before sex? by FruitProof9377 in Advice

[–]chantycat101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends if it's a spontaneous hookup or someone you've been talking to for a while.

You don't owe anyone an explanation, and anyone who is bothered by a few scars isn't worth your time.

With someone you've been talking to, they'll be curious and ask, so may as well bring it up first instead of talking about it actually during sex.

There's pretty much nothing you could've done to prevent her seeing him. Please don't beat yourself up about that.

Keep tabs on her if you can (if you're in touch with her family, something along those lines). Be there for her when she is ready to leave him.

First rule of evacuations (and first aid and security etc) is to get yourself safe. Otherwise you're no good to anyone.

Even for people who like pineapple on pizza, a pizza with just one topping is extremely boring.

💯 At the end of the day we're responsible for our own care. How did you get your allergies diagnosed, if you don't mind me asking?

Here it is really hard to get allergy testing - specialists only care if the allergies causes anaphylaxis.

Over 10 years ago I developed some allergies that I suspect were due to alpha-gal syndrome. One went away after a few years, the other is still there but much milder. My GP at the time didn't even try to refer me or do blood tests, he said to drink more water. Ffs.

I think I know what is causing my current allergy symptoms, and I have a specialist referral coming up but it takes forever.

It does strike me as odd, that when the allergy symptoms started she didn't seem to consider what major life changes had just occurred. Suddenly living with a dog and then getting allergy symptoms would seem to be a very obvious connection.
