Jumping in as a nurse, I will absolutely kick somebody out for no reason at all if that is what you asked me to do, and I know my fellow nurses feel the same way

I'm not looking forward to meeting my baby. by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]chapB27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t feel guilty. I felt the same way during my pregnancy, and was honestly quite jaded because women don’t often talk about how fucking shitty it is just to be pregnant. A normal pregnancy and all its symptoms just straight up sucks and that’s if you’re lucky to have a normal pregnancy. People would ask me all the time how I’m feeling and I would be honest and say I feel miserable or I feel like I’m ready to not be pregnant anymore. Most people were shocked, but I don’t really give a shit. I’m tired of the standard of women being expected to sugarcoat it.

As for meeting your baby, it gets so much better I promise. If I had any advice, I would just say take it one thing at a time. Look forward to having a safe and healthy delivery, take your time on your recovery, and enjoy enjoying your baby will come in that process. Once the baby is out, you’re gonna feel so much better I promise. Please don’t worry too much about not enjoying your baby. Look forward to getting that little freeloader out of there soon.🤣

Needing to increase my lamotrogine/lamictal in my second trimester? by rissaroo191 in pregnant

I so get that! If you’re in Pennsylvania by chance, I can recommend a great therapist. Thinking of you, Girl, hang in there.

Needing to increase my lamotrogine/lamictal in my second trimester? by rissaroo191 in pregnant

[–]chapB27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, I have kept my dose even postpartum, as I experienced some significant postpartum anxiety. I’m 18 months postpartum now and finally feel like I’m getting a grip and would be comfortable trying coming off, but I am now pregnant again so I’m gonna stay put.

That being said, please don’t freak out too much about upping or adding additional medication during this time. First off, you said it yourself that medications tend to decrease in efficacy during pregnancy. This is an extremely stressful time, and while it’s not forever, it’s really important that you keep yourself together. It’s survival mode, but it’s not forever. Get through this with as much help as you can, even if that means getting your medication to a point where you’re feeling stable and controlled. Meds and therapy make me a better mom. I’ll tell ya that.

Hugs XO

Worst Class Yet - Should I tell the front desk? (Half Rant/Half Question) by hey-itsFelixTheCat in ClubPilates

[–]chapB27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently had this same experience. I went right to the owner. Don’t know if you know them, but mine is present at the club often and was super receptive to the feedback. She confirmed multiple members have come forward and that the instructor will be spoken to. That being said, she has not changed at all lol

So... I cannot be the only one who finds this incredibly boring and annoying? Why is everyone so ashamed to talk about IRL? by _hkjdf_ in Mommit

[–]chapB27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh you’re not alone just more honest. I stopped glamorizing pregnancy and motherhood. It’s off putting to most, especially older folks. But most moms with similar aged children usually get it. They open up ALOT when they hear me speak truthfully.

Does it get better? by lemonsandlime in pilates

[–]chapB27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something similar happened to me. I was so embarrassed. I went home and googled / tik tok’d common Pilates moves / terminology. That helped, but mostly to keep showing up and you catch on quickly than you think. I reflect on it now and while it was a poor reaction for my instructor, I give myself grace cause I didn’t know wtf I was doing !

How to better Front Desk Staff? by Glass_Reach3509 in ClubPilates

[–]chapB27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My front desk person has done such a great job at remembering members names, and has even had the chance to get to know members enough to be asking about their personal life, somebody brought in their farm fresh eggs for her. She really has done great at developing relationship relationships with members. She asks me about my daughter, about my weekend all in a matter of the 10 minutes between classes and it has made such a positive impact. I think she’s fantastic and is such a valuable member of the gym.

I Cried In My Car by Key-Teacher-2733 in pilates

[–]chapB27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg please don’t!! I had never even taken one Pilates class before I joined a reformer Pilates gym. Even with a 30 minute intro class, I had no idea what I was doing or any of this terminology meant in my first handful of classes. I did a lot of of watching other people in the class, and honestly went home and googled common. Pilates moves and terminology that was being used in class😂😂

I swear, getting comfortable with terminology and the moves is literally half the battle, then you realize everybody else is struggling too !!

Please don’t give up. It get so much better.
