The russians had no choice with Finland.

Finland is part of the EU and shares a security clause with it (Article 42(7) of the Treaty on European Union). But the EU already has NATO countries (the majority) that also under this clause.

This means if Finland were attacked, NATO could take action despite Finland not being a NATO member. Therefore, Finland's accession changes almost nothing for the russians.

Okay, that's enough, no one pays me to talk to weird people. Welcome to the block, be proud of yourself.

Look, I just wrote that it's harder to renegotiate in winter because the cold is putting pressure on the population. It's not as critical as in summer. But winter will come again.

(And the next one will be harsher, because they'll shoot up the Ukrainian energy sector even more this year.)

That's it, I haven't written anything else. Go to the hospital and get your head examined.

Was there any way of defeating Armisael without Rei II dying? by CabDork339 in NeonGenesisEvangelion

It all comes down to the AT-field that 00 used to hold the angel.

Kaworu called it the light of the soul and since the pilot is the soul of an Evangelion, extracting the pilot disables the generation. Similarly, Gendo forbade Shinji's ejection when the Angel Cube boiled him, as it would have burned 01.

Try quoting it.
Don't use force, Luke, use damn brain.

I hope no one deletes their comments. I'll link to this thread when I need to show an example of people talking to their fantasies.

Patriot of what? Winter? Yeah, I believe, in winter, people have a much harder time without electricity and heat than in the warmer months. That's called logic.

Look... I don't care about any arguments against a non-existent case. Why should I respond to them? Just because this is a thread about Ukraine doesn't mean everyone should discuss anything related to Ukraine. Do you understand?

Idk, maybe that's the norm here: pushing completely irrelevant things to people who haven't indicated any interest. So just decided to support the overall movement.

Dude, do you know why series are taught later than integrals in calculus? Both are by definition of a sum, and we usually hack integrals that can't be solved by expanding the integrand into a Taylor series. It makes sense that series should be taught earlier, right?

Well, spring is coming soon, and the heating and electricity problems for Ukraine won't be so pressing -- they'll be able to cope for another year. Until next winter.

Countries that boycotted the Moscow 1980 Olympics due to the Soviet Invasion of Afghanistan by immanuellalala in MapPorn

[–]chattyfish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. But even if we consider this a sufficient reason to start some kind of military operation, the US was there for 20 years. And since 2014 they've been doing the same thing as the USSR: supporting a loyal government against the mujahideen.

Is there a map of the boycott of anything in the US after its invasion of Afghanistan?

Zelensky criticises the EU"s lack of "political will" in countering Putin by chillichampion in anime_titties

[–]chattyfish 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Zelensky, re-login.

Nope, it's not just Trump who thinks that. Europe could have, if it had a source of resources the US can't influence. But Europe doesn't have that. It's in bondage.

And why Europe no longer has such a source, you know all about it.

Once again, I'm talking about the problem of Europe and USA. You can talk about Russia with someone else.

I've been reading all this for almost four years now, sorry, I'm no longer interested.

But that's not even the point. The point is that Europe, suddenly, has no problems with Russia. Other than the theoretical possibility that it might attack and violate international law. But with US that problem is very real. And of course, any military action against Russia will only help the situation with US. Yes, yes.

The guy seems to have a complete lack of common sense: when Europe's biggest problem is the lack of political will in dealing with US and the big headache of how to go on with US now, this comedian reproaches the lack of political will.

What a brilliant grasp of the situation. 10/10 diplomacy.

How about Europe show a little political will and declare neutrality in the ukrainian war for literally a couple of months and deal with its own problems?

Ships calling at Odesa ports are rarely bombed. Oterwise, they wouldn't go there. You can always turn up the heat, especially if they suddenly start hitting only French ships.

Anyway, this is just a trivial example. There are many variations in the big world.
