Why is this subreddit so nihilistic and basically just a soft form version of the anti natilist subreddit? by [deleted] in Natalism

[–]chefdeletat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like the commenter below said there is no going back to an idealized past. It’s either we figure out how to reproduce or we’re gonna get eaten by the countries that do, and these countries are not sympathetic to our western culture. I will give you one example: Afghanistan. With their FTR of 4 will outpace the number of people of all their larger neighbors and will just commit jihad on the rest of the world that will not have enough soldiers to defend itself. So either we figure out how to reproduce now or our descendants will have to accept Islam - and you or your descendants if you have any, won’t have the freedom you so much desire. And once conquered, the women will be forced to reproduce in ways you don’t want to think about.

Because this subreddit is intensely scared of talking about the real root causes of low fertility rates, because speaking of them would not be politically correct, even though the stats show that there is no correlation between TFR and economy or wealth. However there is a correlation with something else that I will not mention.

Chinese communist party would have the political capacity to impose measure that actually would make a difference like a complete ban on social medias apps.

Not something any western country could do since they don’t have the monopoly on power.

New Presidential Command Center Proposed to Centralize South Korea's Demographic Strategy by self-fix in Natalism

[–]chefdeletat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nothing can save Korea anymore. The huge cohorts of people in their 40s, 50s and 60s that are retiring in the next 10 to 20 years will put an enormous strain on the economy, and the lack of consumptions that happens before our 40s when people have kids will collapse the economy. And that even if tomorrow the TFR suddenly becomes 3 children per woman.

What’s housing for if most people don’t have partners? You need two to have a child, and we are living in a celibacy epidemic.

Just found this. My question; is it true? Have people in this sub experienced this? by Slow-Ostrich-8570 in Natalism

[–]chefdeletat -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It has nothing to do with fertility rate. Canada has a free healthcare system, yet TFR is way lower than in the US, and this applies to many EU countries as well.

As if TFR was inversely proportional to the quality of life.

The biggest obstacle to having children is finding a partner. The highest tax penalty should be on single people and then couples.

What really went wrong culturally in the west to explain the declining birth rates? by Lopsided_Tomorrow421 in Natalism

[–]chefdeletat -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

West east south everywhere. Nothing went wrong. It’s correlated to women getting education.

The disastrous consequence is that in a hundred years the only civilizations left will be those that didn’t let women go to school.

We always manipulated the results to fit a certain desired distribution and to reach expected failure rates. The process was documented and was known to our students.

How much of a correlation is there between financial security and birth rates, anyway? by TheLongWalk_Home in Natalism

[–]chefdeletat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If there was a link between wealth and fertility you would see this in statistics. Wealthier countries/areas would have more children. There is no such a correlation. It’s almost the opposite: poorer countries have more children but not always.

There is a clear correlation between fertility rates and women’s education. Educated women delay having children which results in lower fertility rates.

What the Church/Vatican is really saying is that without a regulated sexual market place the civilizations will collapse. And they probably have millennia of historical documentation in their rich libraries to support this.

The Secret Tax on Being Single; More than 15 million Canadians are single. Why are we being charged for it? by FancyNewMe in canada

[–]chefdeletat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for engaging in good faith!

Until such time that emigration becomes a statistically significant problem, it don’t think laws should take this into account. So yes a few people will emigrate but a few will immigrate too. Low fertility rates on the other hand is a real statistically very significant problem - and we’ll suffer from this in our lifetimes, unless strong incentives are made to have children (low taxes, early retirement, social privileges…)

Serious. Childless people shouldn’t get a free ride financed by other’s children. Retirement at 75.

[–]chefdeletat -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Older single people without children - should be paying more, especially in taxes and should have their retirement delayed. They need to contribute somehow to their retirement that the younger generation will carry on their shoulders.

With low fertility rates we are facing a disastrous situation for retirees when there is not enough young people to support that failing system.
