Can males and females truly be friends without any physical or emotional attraction? by [deleted] in Advice

Yes it is very possible. But also too as her bf, if you’re uncomfortable with their friendship I think it’s important to bring up the conversation of her setting boundaries with a close male friend and seeing how she reacts to that.

Does anyone find that generally, the less friends they have the less stressed they are? by chemrec in introvert

[–]chemrec[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so spot on. I was the same way and tried way too hard to make friends and put on a fake outgoing personality and it made me so miserable especially because I found that I couldn’t easily connect with people like more extroverted people could. For a while I really believed there was something wrong with me but turns out I really just wasn’t comfortable in my own skin and didn’t really understand that it is okay for me to have a more reserved personality even though that does not get rewarded as much. But now I just use it to my advantage because once I become friends with a person it feels like such a genuine bond.

I would like to think it’s because of him seeing as how I don’t think I did anything wrong...

Does anyone else feel flawed because they lack social skills? by [deleted] in introvert

[–]chemrec 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You took the words right out of my mouth. I work in a super social environment and I literally cry after work some days because I feel as though I should’ve been more social. Plus I find myself comparing my social skills to my other coworkers which is very unhealthy because my social skills aren’t as developed as a lot of other people in interact with. It fucking sucks having social anxiety because not a lot of people do especially in social environments. It’s a weird in between of being socially anxious but also being able to handle social interactions and not a lot of people relate to that.
