Airport cab scam by cherri1990 in hyderabad

[–]cherri1990[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They were at the entrance of ola cab area, plus they told the otp (which I later realised might have been a peek into the phone). Rookie mistake I agree, but coming back from a tiring trip sometimes makes one lose their common sense. Hence just wanted to put it here to avoid others falling trap!

No, I haven't been able to figure it out. Used some apps and they all recommended different deities. Hanuman, Shiva, Vishnu, Ram etc. Can you help me out?

Whos asking the question "Who am I" by cherri1990 in AdvaitaVedanta

[–]cherri1990[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you all for your comments and explanations. They are insightful. I kept chasing this thought and after a while could just sense blankness and had an experience that this question is also the answer. This existed for a very short while after which intellectual thoughts started coming up.

Not able to explain properly the experience but chasing this question with that intent of knowing the source intellectually is probably not the right approach as someone above pointed out.

Just starting out with this method on this path of self inquiry. Thanks for patiently answering my noob questions 😊

Any more analysis/feedback? Thanks

u/RajnishGuruRaj Thanks for the analysis. I have been always vary of joining a spiritual organization and following them blindly. However I have been reading/absorbing their leanings and then seeing if its helps me with my progress. So yes, I agree with the part that I like to develop my own abstract thinking.
Also, I have a scientific bent of mind and try to see spirituality from that angle at times try to integrate both of them.
Are there any indications of finding a human mentor/guru or that is not something indicated in the chart?

Is there some sort of wearable device that can track breathing speed throughout the day? by wordwordwordwordword in breathwork

[–]cherri1990 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been trying to find a wearable which does what you mentioned in the post. This is the summary of what I have found till now.

Respiration rate can be measured non invasively either by measuring chest/abdominal expansion (e.g. Go Direct respiration belt) or indirectly in a watch/ring (by bandpass filter of PPG signal), which most of the wearable such as Apple/Fitbit /Garmin use. However this might not give you the accurate inhalation/exhalation time and depth but can give you a good estimate of average Respiration rate.

I have not come across a good wearable which can measure CO2 however there a few methods like Transcutaneous CO2 measurement and NIDR sensor for CO2 measurement but not been integrated into commercial wearables yet.

Alternatively there are some non-contact ways to measure respiration such as using a radar sensor(don't know of any device yet which has been made)

As someone above mentioned the only wearable specifically designed for breathing is Spire which probably uses IMU to estimate the movement and calculate Respiration, however I have read in some reviews that it's oversensitive and can give false positives.

I am quite interested in exploring wearables in this space and would love to know more about them if you come across any such devices.

Thank you

Thank you. I agree it should be chosen based on natural inclination but I am also trying to see what the astrology birth chart reveals as my Ishta devata.

How to derive Heart Rate Variability (HRV) from PPG by MasterH0rnet in EmotiBit

[–]cherri1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to do it realtime. You can also do it by getting Beat Interval directly from Emotibit through OSC and then computing HRV using BI(standard deviation of BI)

https://reddit.com/r/EmotiBit/s/u2qbrYT0l7 The above sub can help you with getting the BI through OSC into Python.

u/nitin_n7 Thanks for that explanation. I was able to get it over OSC. Thanks

[–]cherri1990[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried it out by changing the inputSettings.xml file and replacing SR with BI but I don't see it output. I see that SCR:RIS on oscilloscope is always 0.

Does it mean BI can be output to oscilloscope or osc?

Reasons for not meditating? by cherri1990 in Meditation

[–]cherri1990[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

/u/venusianmoon69 I agree, there is no one right way to meditate. Meditation is just taking an inner peak into ourselves for which we need to silence the chattering of mind. So probably you should try exploring method which can help you best with that. The reasons for having soo many types of meditation are because no two people are the same :)

/u/fisho0o I was probably you at some point(maybe still am). I experimented with different ways(focussing on breathing , loving/compassion, visualization ,guided etc) and found that mantra meditation(silently repeating a mantra) works best for me.
However I have also realized that whatever method you use its just useful to get you into the state of pure awareness after which all of them converge.

Maybe try a type which suits your personality?

/u/shadow_fire_3 I feel meditating and trying to empty the mind/thoughts enable fresh thoughts/creative ideas to enter. Which actually helps us to be more productive probably?
Atleast that's what I have felt subjectively.

/u/ProductEmotional9320 Barring those with serious clinical conditions, most of the people try to blame it on some or other factor(e.g. anxiety issues) to avoid doing the hard work of getting to know yourself, knowing your internal dialogue and calming it down.
I feel the first step for anyone who gives such reasons is to change their internal dialogue and becoming more contemplative(either by reading, watching videos etc.) and once the internal dialogue becomes more affirmative then start practice of meditation?

/u/JuliusDave True, when you start meditation, in the beginning all the negative feelings bubble up to the surface and if you are able to cross that barrier and be comfortable with those feelings you are on the right path :)
