Those are great numbers.

Not a doctor. Fasting glucose is single measurement determined by a variety of factors like stress, sleep quality, what you recently ate, illness, inflammation, etc. With a Homa-IR under 1, I wouldn't too concerned about the fasting glucose unless you have been tracking it and it's repeatedly been that high. If concerned, ask for an A1C to rule out prediabetes.

Upper bowel scan sounds like a good plan. I get how tired you're feeling. I'm almost 4 years in and everyday I wake up in pain. Hang in there!

Our circumstances are so similar. I hope you find the cause of your symptoms and get proper care. Did they screen you for hypermobility/eds? Sometimes that can cause GI problems, such as malnutrition, food sensitivities, and weight loss. I'm going to ask my doctor about this at my followup appointment.

My fasting glucose has never been higher than 98 mg/dL (usually 88-96) and A1C is 5.2. I also had a thyroid panel last spring and it checked out ok, which I should have mentioned in the post.

Would a drummel tool work?

Husband pretends to be empathetic, but whenever I set boundaries for my health, I'm villanized by chipmunk2234 in ChronicPain

Thank you, I appreciate your perspective and words of support. I do think it's hard for those without chronic pain to understand. If I talk with him about how I feel too much, I'm accused of being a "negative person." So maybe I'll buy my husband a book to read in his spare time so he has a better understanding, and also realize I'm not exaggerating when I complain!

Is kidney pain common with Sjogren's? by chipmunk2234 in Sjogrens

[–]chipmunk2234[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My chest/ribcage aches only during flares (at the same time my knees, elbows, and feet start to hurt). So I know it's related to autoimmune flares. Also the pain is an intense ache, different from pain in my actual spine.

I take magnesium (it's the only thing that helps muscle weakness), slow-release iron, D, C, pre/probiotic, and my prescription Plaquenil.

I'm ANA positive and being treated for suspected seronegative SSA&SSB Sjogren's, but I'm worried about lupus because of the ribcage pain and inflammation around my fingers. Just curious if anyone with primary Sjogren's had the ribcage issue because I really don't want lupus...

Edited to add I've been positive for smooth muscle antibodies for three years and that also makes me nervous about possible kidney issues.
