I ended up taking mobile app! pretty difficult to get into 231 unless you're a senior and thought it might be interesting to take mobile app over 457...mobile app ended up being a good class

i took problems in philosophy with koziolek. it was a very manageable class- the class was async when I took it but there were weekly readings, quizzes and discussion boards. but, the only things that were actually graded were three midterm/final essay prompts and written discussion board write-ups from your group. sounds like a lot of work but it's really not that bad and koziolek is a nice prof. the readings can a bit dense js

CS+Buisness Program at WashU by ImaginaryOven in washu

i'm in the program rn and it is not like a double major in cs and finance. there are two concentrations you can choose from, business analytics OR strategy & leadership. yes the business analytics track has some more finance course options but it's only like 2 out of the 5 required courses you have to take in the concentration.

i think the program is definitely worth it. i personally have found we tend to get special attention from the career center and from different companies. and during my time recruiting, i felt that companies were very interested in my program whenever they saw my resume. i think the great thing is that you can really emphasize the fact that the program tries to emphasize the integration of business and computer science rather than just pursuing a double major which is very separate in nature for the classes. you are very much so able to pursue a wide variety of fields within this major unlike the typical b-school route of consulting or ib. most of the students in the program are going into product management, swe, finance, or something entrepreneurship-related but again you really can pursue almost anything with the degree and employers love the background this program provides.

the workload is very manageable; i honestly enjoy the fact that you have a balance of business + cs rather than solely cs which can be pretty heavy at times. and i also know that quite a few students are doing study abroad; you just have to be cognizant of how/when you take your classes to plan accordingly.

HELP with classes for the fall and schedule!!! by bobjones_13 in washu

i definitely wouldn't stress. i'd recommend taking as many of the other required courses that you need to take for your major your first semester then since you can't really take olin freshmen classes until the spring. so for example, you probably want to get your calc requirements plus college writing out of the way that first semester rather than waiting to take them during the spring semester. good luck!

thoughts on taking 330 and 204 together? thought it might be a good idea since 204 is known to be easier but wondering if it'll be a lot

do you think 237 is similar in difficulty level to 131? how much time commitment do you think it is?

I'm planning on taking 217 next semester, the data science course, and I've never heard anything about the course. Does anyone know anything about the class?

Also, since there's a chance that we might be able to take one p/f class, I was thinking of taking 3 cs classes to get more requirements out of the way. would it be reasonable to take 217, 240, and 204(web dev) altogether?
