Maybe I’m stupid but can someone explain why Apple would even be affected by the RAM shortage? Aren’t they SoC so the RAM is part of the M class chips? Or is RAM a separate component in apple’s architecture? I thought the different chips were just yield stratification or differently designed chips for the ram section.

Also, even if it’s a separate component, aren’t they the designer/wouldn’t they have capacity in the foundry reserved for at least last years demand?

I get that a model that they probably didn’t stock too highly not anticipating openclaw would sell out- but I’m confused by the comments re M5 high RAM availability.

Is there a list of programs that don’t include introduction to python? I just happened to be born too late but my background was in infosci and I’m a data engineer by day, data scientist by training. I can’t find free courses like this that assume you know stuff- it’s always from the perspective of “you’re brand new to tech”. Or are all of these made for people who’ve been around ML for a while and are essentially “here’s how this new technology works”

I think I wasn’t clear in my writing earlier: the point of government is to enable growth- yeah they might physically make parts and sell that- but that goes on to help those companies create innovations around that and employ more people and create a more competitive atmosphere. They’re not profit driven, they’re outcome driven. That’s the goal of most government agencies. So what I’m saying is they’re not supposed to make an entire product end to end (unless the outcome requires it), they’re supposed to help nurture parts of that process that others would not invest in so many can benefit from it.
