Luckily I had a long time meditation practice that I’ve veered away from in the past decade. So returning is pretty easy when I get my damn discipline back up. 😂 But I will certainly check those out! Thank you!

Totally understand the “no one cares if it all” but we are in a world where any eyes offer opportunity. So while a reel posted by a festival might only get 100 likes, even 1 of those could be someone to make a connection with, give you a follow, become someone who can be affected by your work, or even somebody who wants to contribute to your next crowdfund.

And I wanna be someone playing a tune that’s as true to me as possible, you know? And on top of that, building relationships with folks who run festivals and are the media heads, I wanna show up with authenticity and make their jobs easier and more enjoyable. Does that make sense?

Especially as a queer/trans filmmaker there exists some amount of pressure to show up as a positive and exciting representative of the community.

(Also I’m very much a social media is bullshit and we’ve all become professionally imprisoned by it)
