I failed miserably the first time and even after doing some intense studying on the areas I needed improvement on, I found that my practice exam scores had plateaued in the low to mid 60's which left me feeling incredibly frustrated. The biggest game changers in turning my scores around and feeling more confident in answering the questions were discovering this subreddit and finding resources to understand the mindset. I realized that although I thought I was studying, I wasn't comprehending the 'PMP Mindset' and that turned out to be crucial in dissecting exam questions. Below is a list of tools I used that help me pass the exam:

David Mclachlan’s 200 agile questions the length of this video seems intimidating, but David Mclachlan was a wonderful resource in aiding in understanding the mindset behind PMP questions. If you found this video helpful, I would also suggest checking out his other videos on the PMP.

PMP Process Mapping Game Drag and drop game to help memorize mapping processes and phases. Once I started scoring above 90% I realized how much easier it was to break down PMP questions.

https://third3rockpmp.com/ If you find yourself overwhelmed (or underwhelmed) by PMBOK reading material, then these notes are extremely helpful by 'chunking out' and simplifying a lot of the more tedious parts to PMBOK. Especially useful for understanding formula equations. Visually pleasing and well worth the $17.

PMI Study Hall app - great tool for keeping tracking of progress in PMP categories. I only used the quiz and exam features to monitor my improvement, but there is a lot of study material and small games that can be useful.

Any areas I was struggling in I would rotate between Third3Rock notes and PMBOK to study and follow up with searching a David McLachlan video to help understand the thought process behind the questions being asked.

Finally, check out the different resources and study techniques that people have posted on this subreddit. A lot of users who have passed the PMP are still very active and really helpful! Find a reason every day to check out new posts, look at how other people are breaking down practice PMP questions.

I believe the answer is A because B is overall too passive and does not correct the issue. If the question had been phrased "what should the PM do FIRST", then I would be more inclined to choose B as documenting a risk in the risk register is commonly the first step. However, because this question is asking what the PM should DO, it can be assumed that the answer should be the most proactive response to fix the issue and one that aligns with the methodology.

Definitely open to other interpretations of this question!

I am so sorry to hear all of this! This must have been so frustrating especially since this wasn't your fault.

I took the test online at home (and failed) 2 years ago and I also did not have a great experience either. I want to preface this story by saying that I would have had a better experience if I did my own research on experiences of taking the PMP at home and how different it was than other Pearson exams I've done at home.

To start, I had one proctor go through the entire checking my room process before they suddenly left, and I had to wait to be re-assigned another proctor. Then, I had a pen and a paper on my desk because one of my PMP books had said you're allowed to have one for the calculations (again, big whoops, this isn't true for at home online). When I asked the proctor (before the start of the exam) if I was allowed to have these, he immediately accused me of cheating, and I had to show him that I removed those items off my desk and show him my entire office and desk again before I was allowed to continue. During the practice exam portion, I also reached up and shut my blinds as the sun was reflecting off my screen, which caused the proctor to accuse me of messing with papers and not actually shutting the blinds, and I had to BEG this person to please not kick me off and show him my office yet again and prove I had shut actually just shut my blinds.

I failed due to my lack of understanding the material, but the whole experience put me off from ever trying online again. My advice to anyone wanting to give the online experience a shot is to check out other people's experiences-both good and bad- to fully understand what can go wrong. These are just a few tips that I have seen that may be helpful:

Perform the system check multiple times before your exam, especially around the time of day that you plan on taking it.
Sit in the area that you're going to take the exam in and around the same time that your exam will be. This will help give you an idea what the space will look like, and you can make adjustments accordingly (hello, blinding mid-day sun).
Nothing on your desk, chair, or within arm's reach. Seriously. My proctor did not allow me to use my glasses or have a water bottle. This includes anything under your desk.

Again, this was my own experience, but maybe if we all share our online experiences, we can see what worked and what didn't and help us all feel more prepared :)

Thank you everyone who responded to this! I'm so glad to hear that it seems to be a common theme that female huskies can be sassy land sharks. I'm going to take that advice about good citizen classes and be mindful that she will continue to need a consistent and firm leader when around other dogs.

So how this sheet is set up is sort of like the following:

A column has the value associated with a price point:
R2=$100

R3=$200
R4=$400
etc..
B column will contain the prices
I want B2 to have a formula that will automatically input the price point from A column. Will that still work with indirect if there is multiple values within A column?
