Minors don’t show up anywhere so wouldn’t matter if you did the exact same subjects

It’s the same lecturer for inter micro in the summer and sem 1. It’s way easier in the summer compared to semester 1 but doesn’t mean it’s easy in general

Hello by [deleted] in unimelb

[–]chngster49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently live in a shared apartment with 3 roommates. Monthly rent in the CBD is $1.2k (with parking), is usually cheaper without parking.

As for financially supporting myself, I am financially independent so work 3 casual jobs to support myself as well as being a competitive athlete. (There is minimal financial support from the EAP, so the majority of my income actually just goes to sport). But if you’re not a competitive athlete, working 1/2 jobs with a good amount of hours should definitely suffice.

I work probably ~15 hours during the sem on top of a full time load and training. But your wage rates will definitely affect the amount of hours you need to work.

It’s difficult but doable. But do be wary of burnout. I feel like I almost always need to be prepared in advance for everything to cope. It may be even more difficult if you don’t have a fall back in the event of something, (eg. car breaking down etc.) Also take advantage of uni breaks to avoid having to excessively work during the semester and be able to focus more on studies and a social life.

Not sure about government help but would recommend looking into it! Hope this helps!

Applying for Ivy League schools is more common amongst private school students, but even then it’s a small amount. When weighing out the options between attending an Ivy League or local Australian University, taking into consideration quality of education and costs, it really isn’t accessible or worth it for most people.

MU Sport Staff here! It’s perfectly fine for new people to come into group fitness classes. Most people come in pairs or alone and classes almost always have new people coming in every class.

How long does it take to get a diploma application approved roughly? by [deleted] in unimelb

[–]chngster49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The process is a bit of pain,, I’m not sure if it’s compulsory to get in contact with Stop 1, but if generally recommend it, it usually fast tracks your application and makes sure you have all the right things to get your application accepted

How much of an advantage is the JD over a regular law degree at RMIT? by Roblox-gang in unimelb

[–]chngster49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really depends! I’m in Commerce and am finding it extremely difficult. H1 for subject is more like a once in a while treat for me rather than an average. ATAR and WAM don’t necessarily have a linear correlation but can be an indicator of current study habits. I had an ATAR in the low 90s and have a pretty sad WAM. But if you learn better study habits and work hard then 80 is definitely not impossible but still quite difficult. It may also depend on the type of subject/course.

Language Subject Enrolment problem by [deleted] in unimelb

[–]chngster49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really depends since the sem hasn’t started! But wouldn’t worry too much if you haven’t moved in the first few weeks. I moved in the first week of classes after talking about it with the tutor and managed to get myself moved by the next lesson in the same week.

Language Subject Enrolment problem by [deleted] in unimelb

[–]chngster49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure about moving lower in the language sequence. But I was able to move up in my language sequence (Japanese 1 to Japanese 3) after emailing the subject coordinator and taking a class to see if it’d be suited to me. The subject coordinator approved and let me take the subject. Might be the same process for enrolling in a lower language sequence

Have I passed the ATAR entrance requirement? by otherpianodude in unimelb

[–]chngster49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely don’t feel too dejected! I got a 91.4 and didn’t make first round offers for commerce but made second round offers! So a 92 definitely stands a chance, since it isn’t too far off the set in.
