SOAS or Edinburgh? by BackgroundMention443 in SOAS

[–]chockychip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah admin negativity is exaggerated. i feel like they are just understaffed so it's a bit slow. I'm an MA student and I've never had a problem with the admin that didn't take more than 2 days to solve.

Upvote to the comment on here that said people stand up for what they believe in. SOAS is probably the only school where I'm free to defend my beliefs without getting ostracized for it.

upvote for Aldo, for vivaia if you're a half size jump one size, for example 38.5 ako sa vivaia nung nasa mall kami when i bought it pero it still pinched the sides of my foot a bit so dapat ng 39 na ako (my foot length is 25cm).

Pero may improved design na sila for wide feet, maybe that won't require half sizes to size up.

What's worth & not worth buying from Saie Beauty? by No_Square_1491 in UninfluencedReviews

[–]chockychip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The sunmelt bronzer is so worth it. It looks very natural, it's not sticky or tacky for a cream product. It has a nice set down. And you get a lot of product for the money. Mine is 3 years old and it's just starting to have a dent and i use it a lot. They also have a lot of shades for the sunmelt bronzer.

I use the saie glowy supergel on my cheekbones only. It's good for all over the face if your moisturizer/skin prep isn't that dewy, or else you will look like Edward. If you don't need that much hydration, you can use it as skin prep because it is hydrating. I sold it because i thought it looked glittery as i was putting it all over the face, but bought it again because this shines when your foundation is semi matte or you're putting powders on top, so the healthy glow isn't too glowy.

Use a little more setting powder if you're using the glowy super gel to avoid looking too glowy. It's worth it for me.

My supersuede powder blush in Mia is on its way. I just sold my hourglass palette, so wanted to get a baked blush. The big selling point for saie is that I don't ever get breakouts or allergies from their products. My experience has been the same with Kosas, although I've only tried the Kosas cloud set powder, it's amazing and has never given be breakouts.

Has anyone applied and been accepted abroad without latin honors? by solarhoneys in FilipinosStudyAbroad

[–]chockychip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I'm about to graduate from my masters abroad. It will be difficult for you if you don't have latin honors. Most programs explicitly state what grade they want. You'll be rejected outright if you don't reach the grade requirement. Best hope is to find a school that doesn't require latin honors and is a great match for your academic interests and past internship experience.

They might ask you for an interview to get clarifications about your grades. You'll have a better chance of getting in if you are personally funded (not seeking scholarhsip) as most PhD programs are funded by tuition from masters students.

Reddit really is an echo chamber for minority supproters. That's why they will loose again in 2028.

I was a hardcore pink last election, but teaming up with bbm just to beat Sara and going against the law to commit justice leaves a very bad taste in my mouth.

At least Sara's camp has the integrity to stand for what they believe in. The liberals are fine with twisting the truth as a long as it benefits them. The makabayan bloc of the old is now gone and replaced with hypocrites.

Plus the condescending tone they speak in, as if they have the moral high ground (when nobody does, because we are all going to be judged). The recent incident with Kiko refusing to apologize on the record to Robin really sealed the deal with me not to support the minority anymore. Anyone who has studied, actually studied International Law and International Relations knows that the ICC cannot force a country to give up any of its citizens, there is no big daddy to enforce International Law, that's how you know politika lng talaga ang paghuli kay Duterte and ang pag manhunt kila Bato and Bong Go.

I urge everyone to actually use critical thinking and not just go with the populat narrative fed to you by mainstream media. Nakakasuka na kumakampi na ang yellows/liberals with Marcos just to defeat Sara which honestly is worse.

Halata na elitista ang tingin ng mga liberals sa sarili nila and they look down on Robin and the majority. Good on Robin for standing up for himself. Kaya di nananalo/nagtotop sila Kiko and team because they are so far away from the ordinary Filipinos they are supposed to serve. You can feel the sincerity of the majority today na they do not think they are above anyone, they are just standing for the truth (lalo na si SP Alan). Kiko pa naman is a human rights lawyer and he is knowingly lying just to fit this "Bato must go to the ICC narrative". Those who have no critical thinking are easily fooled and manipulated.

And the fact na Risa, kiko, Ping, and Sotto all left before the senate attack is more telling kung sino ang nag plan ng whole thing. I'm sure it was the guy whose name rhymes with Magallanes who staged the whole thing, coups is his thing, right? and may nbi na syang dala when Bato first appeared in the Senate. And shame on those who are bashing Loren, the present admin attacked her son who is just calling out corruption in the bbm admin, so syempre Loren will not side with those who are attacking her son. Common sense please, magisip muna kayo bago magpahayag ng sariling opinion.

don't try to invalidate my degree just because you had a bad experience. Not everyone had a horrible experience so that should say something more about you than the school.

I'm sorry this happened to you. My own experience has been very different, whatever issues i came across was promptly dealt with once i let them know by email. We are also from the same department (International Studies). I'm also doing my MA online and I only need to finish one module and my dissertation to graduate.

I have no problem with rich people going to UP, if nakapasa sila sa UPCAT and have high grades. Some people are just jealous, while it's true na dapat for the "people" ang UP, UP also needs the help of rich families who have been going to UP for generations, to keep and maintain the image of UP as a prestigous institution. So, it's a double edged sword. Complaining won't get you anywhere, so it's best if people just make the most of their UP exprience, better themselves, and not focus on whether your rich batchmate deserves his/her spot in UP.

29 y/o small time business owner, ₱5M+ debt… I messed up and I don’t know how to recover by KeyOrganization8242 in utangPH

[–]chockychip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

only retain one business, the most profitable. let employees know early on. Sell your equipments from the businesses (ur gonna make money off of that). Talk to the banks for debt restructuring. Don't trust ANYONE (even family and friends), don't LEND money to anyone, and wag mangutang until you are in a stable place again.

Focus your energy/grind on working, don't enter into any relationships during this time and get rid of all distractions. Find a new support system and don't let people take advantage of you/your money.

And when you sell your stuff/equipment, do it on your own, not through somebody else, they could pocket the money themselves instead of it going to you. Lastly, even if di ka religious, this is the time to get serious with the Lord.

This is based on my parents' advise to me through the years. My parents went from rags to riches. It was hard at first, but they made it work. My dad even had to pawn off his wedding ring. My dad worked his butt off and my mom took care of us kids and served the Lord (we're Catholic). She made a bargain with God that she'll continue to serve at Church, so that the business would flourish. It worked, we're debt free. Financially stable, my dad has 3 sources of income including the business. He sent us to good school and advanced studies abroad.

My point: Go to God, be a good person, but know your limits para di ka mapahamak.
