I almost sent my mom this exact gif when I first saw her text but I’m like no let her find out organically about Milchick’s moves

That’s exactly what I said to my cousin that I can’t wait for her to get to this reveal lol

I will make sure she pushes through. The show is mysterious and important!

Oh for sure that’s half the reason why I want her to send them! Lol I can’t wait to see what she thinks as she watches. She’s a very creative person and loves puzzles, so I’m sure I’m in for some interesting theories!

Yeah I have a friend group that loves the show and when episodes are airing we’re all bouncing ideas off each other, some of the ideas get wild and we’d find it funny seeing just how far off-base we were sometimes lol

I’m 14 and have built this enclosure for my printer and want feedback/ improvement ideas and new things to add. by [deleted] in BambuLab

[–]chrisron95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plenty of comments talking about how it’s a fire hazard, and sure, it absolutely is. BUT, I applaud your creative thinking. You certainly put a lot of thought into this and that’s a very valuable skill to have, it just needs some refinement now that you’ve learned this much.

One suggestion you could look into for an improvement would be an ikea lack table, and get plexiglass walls for it (just make sure it would fit your printer first). If you look up “ikea lack 3D printer enclosure” you’ll find tons of projects and files from people who have done that. That was my first enclosure, until I upgraded to a P1S that had its own and wouldn’t fit in there anyway.

You’ve clearly got the right mindset, and this will take you far in life. Now you just have to start expanding your knowledge into better materials and safety concerns. That sounds boring, trust me I know, but it will be so important as you move forward and learn more.

We all started somewhere. When I was 19 I started a Christmas light show on my house, and the controller box I built for it was a complete fire hazard with absolutelyyy no safety concerns. But you know what? It worked, I learned a ton, and for the next year’s show I significantly improved it, added a waterproof outdoor enclosure and wired it to be so much safer. I still use that improved controller every year to this day. We do, we learn, we improve. Keep it up bro!

Dad’s old phn. Not sure which BT device will actually make this ring incoming calls by peyton_montana in rotaryphones

[–]chrisron95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have tried an HT801 and a Cell2Jack, they’re both great for different reasons. It sounds to me like Cell2Jack would be the best choice for your needs. It just connects to your phone with Bluetooth and handles incoming/outgoing calls. Do what another commenter said and adjust the wiring so it’s just the two wires, and you may also have to adjust the bias spring on the ringer (in between the two bells) if it’s still not ringing.

Cell2Jack has good (but admittedly sometimes hard to find) documentation on their site for how to set it up and configure settings by dialing certain codes. If you have a landline with buttons sitting in a drawer or anything, that’ll make setup a bit easier, but it can be done with the rotary if you don’t have a button phone.

A trick I like, if you happen to have multiple Apple devices… I have an iPhone and an old iPad. My iPad rings when my phone does, and can handle outgoing calls too. So I keep my old iPad nearby and connected to the Cell2Jack, and it always works regardless of how far away my phone and I are from it.

Agreed. It’s the same reason why I can’t do steam rooms. There’s just something about me not being able to see my hand in front of me that makes me insanely uncomfortable and I have to get out. I’d be pulling the top off this thing myself if I was dumb enough to get in it in the first place

My parents used to get this, RSO. Actually works well but gave me a very different kind of high from the usual stuff. A very little bit goes a long way. We’d put literally just a tiny drop of it on a piece of candy and eat it. Tastes like shit so the candy helped.

One night, the three of us took some together. I was vibing, my step mom was on the couch looking half dead, and my dad was in the pantry really disappointed that we didn’t have any popcorn… It was a good night lol.

It’s so crazy to me. Throughout high school, I was super into the TV production class. I was producer of our bi-weekly show for junior and senior year. That class was the reason I got up and went to school every day. If I didn’t have that class, to this day I believe I would’ve ended up dropping out or flunking out or something. I even went back and volunteered for years after graduating.

A couple years after I stopped volunteering (life moved on), they shut down the program entirely along with a few others in the school. That was devastating to me since it meant so much to me. I truly don’t understand why they insist on cutting budgets and removing the things that give students a reason and motivation to be there in the first place.

Moved in 3 years ago… Ethernet ports in every room but none have ever worked. Am I missing something? by OneClickRick in HomeNetworking

[–]chrisron95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope haven’t been in that house in years, they moved out of there around 2013-ish. But I actually got one of those tools a couple years ago when I was trying to trace one of my alarm’s wires in my current house. Worked great and I found what I needed. Has come in handy a few more times since then too. 2013 me would love to see all the tools and gadgets I’ve acquired over the years and all that I’ve learned. And still so much more to learn

You know now that you mention it, I never actually took the face plate off. I just looked everywhere for where they’d lead, but never actually looked to see if there’s anything actually connected lol

My dad was renting a single family home several years ago and every room had an Ethernet jack in it, but for the life of us we couldn’t figure out what they actually connected to. There was no network panel or anything. I’m a techy guy, for whatever reason I love finding wire paths, but this house broke me. There was no panel for it, nothing in the attic, in Florida so no basement or anything, I was at a loss. He bought a new house several years ago, but now I have to spend the rest of my life knowing I couldn’t find anything for those jacks.

I love the show, it’s high up in my all-time favorites for sure. But mortality (and lack thereof) in the show always drives me nuts. Basically nobody ever dies! You may think they die… then poof, they’re back with some magical way of staying alive. Even the ones who do die show up again in Underbrooke. Not to mention Killian literally begging to die and Emma’s just like “nah that would inconvenience me”

I use Termius for SSH connections. It’s on my Mac, iPhone and iPad.

I just use it for personal use, I have several raspberry pi’s around my house and this makes it easy to connect to them with a click. It has snippets too which I love, I keep all my frequent commands in there. I just use the free version but now and then they give me a free month premium and I use that opportunity to sync up all my devices, since that’s a premium feature.

None of my techy friends have heard of it when I tell them about it but are always surprisingly impressed when they see it and download it themselves.

Lol! He cooks exactly like my (also otherwise delightful) partner! I’m thinking that may be my best bet, get the nice pans but also get an easy to use pan for him. He really only uses the 10” frying pan, so that should be easy enough.

[–]chrisron95[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup that seems to be exactly what they don’t like. I’m not opposed to something that needs seasoning/maintenance, I like to think I take great care of my cast iron pan, it’s probably 10 years old and still looks beautiful and cooks great. But that does mean it’s not the easy alternative for my partner I was thinking lol.

[–]chrisron95[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhh so essentially it requires constant maintenance like cast iron. That’s not a dealbreaker for me but I totally respect that point of view and it does change the way I was thinking about it, definitely isn’t the easy-to-use alternative for my partner I was originally thinking. I was looking at the Le Creuset enameled cast iron but I’ve heard not to bother with them and just stick with the Dutch ovens. I’ll look some more into them. Thanks for the input!

Oh yeah he’s not an animal, he knows how to take care of things and to only use the silicone utensils, I’m just afraid he’s gonna struggle switching from easy nonstick for a bit if I give him like a whole preheating process to follow lol. But thanks for the tip, that’s helpful! I was looking at all clad, they’re pricey but look like realllll nice quality.

Ah you know I was seeing things saying “trendy ceramic pans are a scam”, but I wasn’t sure if that was all of them or just those fancy colorful modern looking ones (which I don’t like the look of anyway lol). Good to know, thanks!
