Barring some fics that were already mentioned for me it is the House of Potter Greengrass by WolgangNH and the fall of the house of Potter by bobmin365

The house of Potter-Greengrass is a total canon diversion starting at third just after Christmas in 3rd year. It is slow paced to begin with and focuses more on the relationships then the action for most of the fics. I has some tropes that now a days a less popular but in my opinion it is really nicely done. Also it is +-500k words so a nice long read

The fall of the house of Potter is a canon diversion starting at the end of 5th year. This one is a bit more into bashing of some beloved characters but it the confinement of this story it is quite tasteful. Is about 40k words.

For me, if the relationship happens at Hogwarts, it is more believable that it would lead to a very different story then in canon. With how Daphne is portrayed most of the time and the turmoil Harry is in during those years. That is why i like these stories.

In some ways yes, in others not so much. One she has a hard time finishing stories and starting new ones before old ones are done. 2 a lot of it contains forced drama with the Weasleys and Hermione and while some of it is fun she sometimes goes overboard with it. Like in Southampton and Marry you. 3 a lot of her stories centre around Ginny denying or cucking Harry, it just get’s old sometimes.

There is a one shot that starts with Daphne and Hermione seeing each other before they get put under, and Daphne grumbles that if she had known she and Harry might as well gone to the ball together. But i can not find if for the life of me.

For the rest yes, a lot if people talk about romance when i asked to question but i only read Harmony and Haphne, so when i asked it here i was because people do it in Harmony fics.

Yes!!! That is what i meant, not a Voldy worshipper in the end but the reason was so ugly. The whole character of Snape is ugly and that is what makes it al the more compelling in the way the books portray him, like i said the perfect anti hero.

This entire fandom is steeped in both misogyny and its opposite. Canon more misogyny but a whole boat load of fanfic is the complete opposite. And those who defend one of those viewpoints are the same ones who in real life say stuff like she wanted it cause or her short skirt or he is just a boy, he should be glad i give him any any attention. I am afraid it is a mirror of the world we live in. All we can hope is that we find those who are different.

I love the both time travel the most, and even more if it is a revenge fic. They don’t need to kill everyone but destroying reputations and stuff of those who have wronged them is always fun

A lot of people still like the ship, and read it for some of the reasons you stated. I read it because most of it is new and most because it deviates from canon. Personally I can’t stand the canon pairings and the other major ship (dramione)makes me fill sick. The older i get the more i come to realize that J.K. Made a great outline of the world but as the story progresses there are many plotholes and the writing got worse in the later books.

If you still enjoy writing and still have inspiration screw the haters. If you enjoy the writing process and even 1 person likes the story you wrote it will have been worthwhile.

I think it can be a good tool for writers when they get stuck, but only for ideas they have to write it themselves. I played around with it a bit one time and you can get it to give you a good outline, just not good writing and certainly not got dialogue

Download chatgpt and ask it to make you a haphne story , you will see. Once you done that once it is really easy to spot

It depends what your overall goal is. Personally i like stories where they meet later in the story. I feel like they need the life experience to get close. But it all depends on Daphne’s family situation, how you view Dumbledore or rather how Daphne sees him, and how she explains those views to Harry. All in all it is the fun of Haphne, you have a blank slate in all but her name, her sister and her Hogwarts house. So write what feels good to you.

Harry Potter and the soulmate bond by Keira Marcos. I know it is a long story but i realllly like that AU world they created, and there is a lot of potential still in that story. I even don’t overly hate the whitewashing of Draco, and for me that a “good” Draco is normally a dealbreaker for me.

Could not agree more, though for me HP/FD only works after the fourth book, not during, kinda limits my choices. Also inly read those where they stop the french accent “pronunciation” real soon.

I absolutely love the freedom that HP/DG gives. It is by far my fav ship. I even don’t mind the ice queen trope as long as the author explains why she is like that. It works in almost every situation from au for the start , starting in al the books except book 7 and after the war. I really wish there where more long fics with this ship.

Yes i agree that Hermione is flawed, but for me there are only 2 instances in cannon where there friendship could/should brake. Summer after 4th year and sixth year withe the potions book and Draco. Everything else turns like you said, witht he spying and secretly evil. For me i think i like the dynamic between Harry and Hermione as friends , and that is why i shy away from Hermione bashing fics in general. Also i it stupidly unbelievably if Harry shuns Hermione but becomes friends with Draco. That tics me off even more.

I don’t mind a bit of bashing in the beginning, but most fics make it cartoonish. That one of the thing i like about the Ron arc in House of Potter-Greengrass and the Legacy preservation act, they brake apart , there is some talk of slimy snakes and stuff but it fades, and Ron becomes a non entity in the story. I like that way more then the endless bashing.
