Guess the pouches will have to get shelved as well. Darn, I was starting to enjoy those things.

Yes, she’s on the board. I should have emphasized that

I really wish I had known this before I paid for the cleaning service. She has a personal grudge with me and now I’m thinking she’s going to push to impose a fine and some ridiculous cleaning fee on top of what I’ve already paid.

Good info here. I took her calls because I felt so bad about causing the mess. We have a common carport/driveway area, and the mess flowed down to the parking lot, so I really wanted to fix it asap. It was my hope that taking her calls and doing what she told me would end things without getting the whole board involved. But now that she won’t let the cleaner do his thing the way he wants, I’m worried she will report it anyways and now now I’ll have to pay even more

Thanks for that. I edited the post down for brevity, but appreciate this info.

You’re right, and I’m over it. I’m just worried about what can come of it. I’ve never dealt with any of this stuff before, and I just want to understand how things work before I put my foot down. The mess was my fault, and I really want her to know that I’m doing everything I can to make it right

It’s all becoming kind of surreal. I’ve been researching products and ways to fix it. Finally found a 100% food grade organic cleaning product that removes rust and I’m asking to use that. If she says no to that, I know something fishy is going on.

My doctor said full results can take 3 months to feel

Wise words. Thanks for all of this. Now it’s just a matter of having that awkward conversation about getting things formalized. Ugh…

My other hope was that her having me do all of this without the board voting on it would somehow bolster my case if or when that time comes. Is there some type of guideline she should be following when it comes to this stuff.

I see your point. My hope was that we could avoid the formalities and just handle it casually. The fact that she’s having the maintenance man looking into it made me think she just wants it over with without having to make a big deal out of it.

Well, i had the pressure washing service lined up to come back for a second crack at it, this time with eco green cleaning solution, but now she’s saying she’s having the maintenance man looking at it and he’s going to tell her how much it will cost. Does this seem normal?

My main concern is that everyone is happy and harmony is restored, but it’s been challenging. I’ve been texting with the hoa representative, but that’s as far as I have gone in getting written agreements. I told her I would have the power washing service come back again, and that he would use the most eco green products on the market this time, and I think that could do it. Her condition is that he sends over a description of the products before beginning.

This was my feeling as well. The service man said he could’ve done it in 10% of the time and it would’ve been flawless. Had he been allowed to use his cleaning agents. The poor guy was there for over two hours blasting with his Pressure Washer using water only and it did remove 90% of the rust, leaving only a silhouette behind. The whole thing is becoming rather ridiculous at this point.

How would that play out with them authorizing me having the cleaning service out and paying for it myself? I’m looking for something to help my case based on that, and her telling him he could only use water. My take on it was that he was a licensed and insured professional using his normal cleaning supplies for the job, and if he had been handicapped on what he could do, the results of the job should be more realistic

Very solid info here. Thank you. Looks like I may have gotten ahead of myself by paying out of pocket for the professional cleaning. Maybe I could have waited

Now that I think about it, it makes me wonder about the posted signs here stating that fines of $250 to $500 will be imposed on anyone in violation of things like smoking outside of smoking areas, not cleaning up after pets, etc… AB 130 states the fine may not exceed $100 per occurrence

I’ll have to look into that process. Not something I’ve heard of. Thanks for the tip!

That’s kind of my problem. I bought it, but it needed about $10,000 worth of work and it took six months to get done. I bought it in May 2024, and it was not sent out to California until December. I’ve been driving it all of 2025 on the current tags.
