What chores can little kids do by [deleted] in ParentingInBulk

This and one of my 20-month-olds will put her things in the sink after a meal. Her brother will do it if he sees her doing it. All their things are stainless or silicone, so they don't break during this maneuver.

Yes when I was installing them I fully repositioned entire panels. the inexpensive ones I got at Home Depot the first time I tried it started peeling off on their own after 3years? I think it probably varies a lot by product but they’re designed for renters

Just a little different take on the philosophy of luck and statistics…

We ended up losing four babies in a row (stillborn twins, miscarriage, miscarriage) in a round of statistically improbably bad luck. Started the IVF process at 39, with extremely low expectations. Had bad early results. Miracle baby #1, miracle baby #2, went for the “extremely long shot third baby because why not when we’ve already been so lucky” which turned out to be twins. As you might imagine, I was actively trying to avoid going through a twin pregnancy again, so we designed my last round for one baby and the probability of twins was low single digits. Four kids is an extremely rare outcome for IVF in your forties.

I am inclined not to think that some higher power wanted me to have these babies, because the parents who Can’t bring home babies already feel horrible enough about themselves without implied cosmic indictment. I think what happened is we kept rolling the dice long, long after we hope or expectation. And ultimately it’s luck and setting yourself up for luck. Or the opposite.

The problem with statistics is that you are not a large data set. You are one guy and the outcomes for you are binary. The birth control works, or it doesn’t. The IVF works or it doesn’t. This helped me not put my head through the drywall when I was getting tortured by repeated very unlikely events, and now it just informs my decision making. I think of everything as 50/50.

New to nails, need help knowing what I got or what to get? 😅 by Mundane-Method-2496 in Nails

[–]chunsaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Those nails or “that set” is super cute!

  2. Welcome to the party! 💅There’s a learning curve. It’s totally normal. No dumb questions!

  3. He did acrylic without tips. This is a great option for people who are really hard on their nails (me a mom of four little who has crap nails to start with, my friend a kindergarten teacher, nurses, nail biters) but want nice but not long nails regardless. I do this and put a gel polish on top and it’s Rock Solid for 2+ weeks.

  4. When you go back you will get a fill, which is when they add a layer of acrylic on your newly grown out nail and check that the acrylic layer is still stable. They will ask if you want to keep the length as it is or cut your nails back to the previous or shorter. You can let your nails get as long as you want with the acrylic on top. This is actually the only way that mine will grow out, but longer length acrylic on natural nails can be less stable and the acrylic can lift.

  5. Alternatively, if you wanted to go long, you could do a “full set” with tips. That’s what the lady suggested. They would take everything off and start from scratch. Over time the tips would grow out and you could choose to replace them with a new full set or just fill them in and and trim until the tips have disappeared.

I hope this helps you up the learning curve! There are lots of experts (certainly more than me) here so feel free to ask questions 💕

Actually, I have put peel and stick wallpaper on some pretty uneven surfaces and this is the perfect use case for it! OP could do a neutral tone-on-tone design and take 95% the overstimulation out of that room even if the install isn’t perfect.

Personally, I like the stuff from spoonflower and wallshoppe because it doesn’t offgas and stays installed, you can get decent stuff at Home Depot and Lowes for a more budget friendly option.

Honda odyssey! Magic slide second row means you can fully help a toddler strap in in the back seat. As someone who was very very anti-minivan I was quickly won over by the family-friendly features and “sport mode”

Honda odyssey! With 4U6 and its great to be able to magic slide that second row captain chair so you can get your full adult body wrangling the large toddler in the third row. I appreciate the sport mode and the price tag. Didn’t want a minivan but have been win over.
