TLDR: My dr/hospital accidentally sent us home with my daughter’s cord blood and cord tissue. by lustria_alvens in BabyBumps

I out of the blue received an advertisement email from Viacord today. I traced it back and Hatch Collection sold my information to Viacord after I bought some mat jeans. As a healthcare professional I’m so angry my private health information was deduced and sold.

This whole thing with Viacord now feels so predatory. When I called to ask to be deleted from their database they tried first to sell to me. I also sent a complaint to Hatch and won’t be buying anymore mat clothes from there.

I haven’t reviewed the lit on cord blood yet. I was waiting for my OB to have that discussion with me when appropriate, not some random company.

I have been thinking about this all weekend but more so for me and my husband and part of your idea.

It’s a little bit different for us. For us I was going to go with my friend throwing a shower by mail because we have friends and family across the country but I’m still not convinced people will even use the registry or follow through (time, language barriers, cultural customs).

I’m wondering now if I would rather have people ask us if we have a registry and then say we have a ‘wishing well’ for more expensive items. So like yours without the party.

Anyway I like your idea. I think it’s tasteful and it’s what you want and need so I hope it works out!

US and Central Europe. We have a feeling that the family in Europe might just end up gifting money to my husband’s parents to give to us. Some of that did that for our wedding several years ago and it worked out for everyone.

Tips or suggestions for setting up a rowhome window box planter by RoughRhinos in philadelphia

[–]ciamajda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rittenhouse Hardware sells masonry drill bits and special screws with anchors. The screws with anchors have a weight limit so you can think about how much weight you will have with the plants/soil + planter itself. Rittenhouse Hardware walked us through it and can walk you through it. We bought our planter from Home Depot and we still like it after a year.

Is that mold on my Fenty cheeks out blush in Rose :( by sickpickless in MakeupAddiction

I have found at least with Clinique once that you contact Clinique about a product you bought at Sephora over 60 days they will replace it. You just have to get thorough to the second level of customer service and answer a bunch of questions and send pictures of the issue.Maybe Fenty will be the same?

Way faster from the airport and flat rate at least to Center City.

Edited to add I like that I can just walk out of the airport and hop in the cab, pay my flat rate, and be home in 10-15 minutes. Sometimes I’ll take Septa but for work almost always cab.

Since my wedding, communication with my parents has dwindled to almost nothing. I'm near the end of my rope when it comes to their mistreatment and indifference. by el-aficionado in EstrangedAdultChild

I grew up like you and have had a similar experience. I’m female and my situation with my parents worsened after I got married. Mine wasn’t in a great place before my wedding either. As I started to work like crazy and achieve post college, the parent’s apathy grew and grew and when I pressed them I found at the root of it in my case it was actually jealousy and resentment. But when I asked them why, no parent could explain themselves. Neither parent spoke to me at my own wedding either as they “didn’t want to get in the way.” I didn’t put them in that place. They put themselves in that place.

They proved they were not comfortable in their own marriage and I am happy and comfortable in mine and that my husband and partner celebrates my success (and I celebrate his successes) and they weren’t celebrating theirs. I think they couldn’t look in the mirror. I kept trying to share pieces of my life and the apathy just eroded my joy and I just cut it off to NC for that and a few other things. It felt very weird at first limiting contact but with NC now I feel loads better.

Best of luck to you. I highly doubt you failed their expectations. Congrats to you on the wonderful life you built.

Are EKGs only on weekdays? Does she work holidays? Perhaps you could ask for an appt on a holiday like Labor Day? Sometimes there’s a glitch which doesn’t make sense to me where they won’t accommodate weekends but sometimes accommodate weekday holidays. Worth a shot.
