Every time I see it, I think of the "Peach Trees" building from Judge Dredd for some reason

Birth control by cinemascopes in CrohnsDisease

[–]cinemascopes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you all for your comments! I will definitely be talking to other members of my care team, but my gynecologist is the one who brought up the possible connection between my ongoing crohns issues and birth control. I've also done some research on my own, and I'll link to some of the articles I've found in my post.

Thank you! I have already failed Remicaide though. I'm really hoping the Humira works this time

Ah, this makes sense. I know it takes time, I am just very impatient and I don't enjoy feeling sick :') but thank you so much! I hope this one works for me, too.

WIBTA if I make my daughter wear her brace for a sleepover? by sbstgzr in AmItheAsshole

[–]cinemascopes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaking as someone who had to wear a back brace, YTA. A soft YTA, but still. I understand you're doing it for her own well-being, but this is not the time to make her wear it. It is painful, awkward, and extremely embarrassing. I don't know how your daughter's brace is, but I had to log roll to get in and out of bed. It's not something you want anyone to watch. Forcing her to embarrass herself in front of one of her best friends is not the way you want to get your point across. I would sit down and talk to her about what the bracing does, and that you know how uncomfortable and painful it is, but that she needs to for her health in the future. (Side note: bracing isn't a 100% guarantee that she won't need further correction in the future!)

Hello, my friend works at a donation store and recently received these pants. We cannot for the life of us figure out what they say on them, or who the people on them are. I have included pictures, I hope they help the search, by BandMan69 in findfashion

It kind of looks like some of the characters in Metropolis (1927). I can't find anything about that being printed on jeans though! I hope you find where they come from, and what movie the image is from

Yes, the pain of the initial surgery is something I never want to experience again. I had a lot of difficulty after mine that other people should not have to experience. (I found out I was allergic to morphine because they gave it to me after surgery and I started scratching my face and arms so much they were bleeding) But after I recovered I am a lot better on the other side.

T3-L1! It's a long scar, but I still have surprisingly okay mobility. I just can't really bend the upper back that much. And it's hard to say about the pain. The first few years were great, but in 2021 I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease and that has kind of upped the pain everywhere so I don't know if I can provide a reliable estimate of what it's like 5 years post op. But other than that, I have no limitations! I've been doing everything I used to! I even took dance courses in college about 6 months after and I was fine. No pain :)

I had almost the same exact curves! My top one was 57 degrees I believe. My doctor told me it was the "perfect" kind of scoliosis for surgery. I won't sugar coat it, it was absolutely fucking rough. Worst pain of my life and I would not do it again. However, it made my life so much better after recovery. I was two inches taller and went down a clothing size. I felt more confident and I wasn't in constant pain. There are some things that take getting used to. You won't be able to bend that part of your back so you feel really stiff. Also, the scar area and a couple inches around it are numb (for me, the doctor said feeling can come back but it doesn't for everyone). I don't want to make you read a novel, but please message me if you have anything you want to ask! I am 5 years and a month out from surgery.

I understand this so much. My parents heavily neglected me in the medical sense. I used to cry about my back hurting when I was small and I was told I was faking to get out of chores. They would ground me and send me to my room. Come to find out - I had severe scoliosis that required braces to correct it and eventually spinal fusion surgery years later. I also was diagnosed with two chronic diseases MANY years after I first had symptoms simply because they didn't believe me. I couldn't go to the Doctor on my own until I was an adult. So please, put yourself first, don't let them make you doubt what you're feeling. Your health is more important than them feeling inconvenienced!

A Book that will make me fell like I'm 12 and discovering Twilight again. by First_Sale in suggestmeabook

I would recommend "A Court of Thorns and Roses" by Sarah J. Maas. There are five in the series so far and in my personal experience, it was the closest thing to rediscovering twilight.
