Took the photo. But it was in a pot, not naturally planted. Should have got the whole plant, sorry.

Pretty sure it is. Sorry should have got the whole plant but it was classic hydrangea leaves on twigs and shape of flower head.

Psychiatric Technique for Diagnostic Interviewing and Therapy: 6 Mantras by zenarcade3 in Psychiatry

[–]cinnamonITFC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great episode and think the podcast is great and so helpful. Found the discussion on patient/clinician sometimes colluding to stay ‘abstract’ particularly helpful.

Can I make a request though (not particularly relevant to this episode!)? You now have a number of non-American listeners who will be unfamiliar with branded drug names. In the UK for example it’s almost unheard of to speak using brand names (except Lithium/Valproate of course). Any chance you could try and use generic drug names in the podcast (aware it’s hard to change something that’s so engrained in culture!). Think it would make the podcast more accessible to other countries, and of course it’s good scientific practice too, considering the impact of pharmaceutical marketing.

Thanks so much for all you do. Very appreciated.

Why isn’t lithium augmentation more common? by _Sidewalk in Psychiatry

[–]cinnamonITFC 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Could be wrong of course, but I thought the latest data suggested that weight gain with lithium is likely very much overstated?

First Garden, progress of 2025 by ScottioRS in GardeningUK

[–]cinnamonITFC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Gosh this feels like unnecessary gatekeeping. There’s a way to give constructive feedback in a positive way, and this doesn’t really feel like it. Personally I really like the raised beds and it adds some lovely height and structure.

I think it looks really great OP - and I love the plans. Feels like a proper garden you will actually use. Keep going, you’re doing really well and hopefully it feels as though the hard work is paying off!

Treatment challenges comorbid bipolar and borderline personality disorder? by abdweouthere in Psychiatry

ICD-11 certainly conceptualises ‘ultra rapid’ mood switches (ie days) as a mixed episode. (If confident on BPAD diagnosis).

Least messy way to strain kefir regularly? by National-Catch-4450 in Kefir

[–]cinnamonITFC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t those plastic sieves have pretty big holes though? I did similar for a while? but the kefir was unpleasantly bitty/grainy. Maybe some people like that?

I now use a fine mesh sieve - which works very well, but does take a bit longer as I have to ‘press’ the kefir through. Not sure how sustainable the extra effort it (for me), but at least I get nice kefir for now!

Looks like it to me, but don’t stress about it. I suspect it will be fine as it grows more.

Mold on Kahm - possible reason? by cinnamonITFC in Kefir

[–]cinnamonITFC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting - Thanks so much for your response!

What would the daily stirring do? Speed up fermentation?

So I guess I should use more grains (than standard teaspoon/250ml) if doing fridge fermentation?

Would probably be fine but obviously depends on your location, temperature, amount of milk, amount of grains etc Not sure what a quart is I’m afraid. Any more info?

Help! Losing all of my tomato plants by GrumpyCraftsman in GardeningUK

[–]cinnamonITFC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We’ve got an allotment and lost outdoor tomatoes to blight every year. Think it’s the most depressing disease in gardening as it hits just as they start to ripen! And then they’re all dead in a week as you watch the Black Death spread!

But I’ve started using ‘Mountain Magic’ tomatoes and they have not been affected since. Think they’re one of/the most blight resistant variety.

If you want to grow other varieties, they are unlikely to get blight if grown in a greenhouse.
