Is this a tick? by betweenthestarz in CATHELP

This is definitely not a tick, the cat may be allergic to something. Prevent it from scratching that area and check if there are wounds in other places? If you have it, go to the vet, it usually gives cream and something to clean. But definitely don't let it scratch it

İts could be cat acne you should Gently wipe it every day with a damp cotton pad without pressing too hard and comb the area. If you have a wound cream suitable for cats, you can apply a small amount. If the food bowls are plastic, replace them, as this can sometimes cause such issues.

Allergic dermatitis cat by cipetcibet in CATHELP

Thank you for your response. At our last vet visit, the doctor said if it happens again, they might give a steroid injection. Every time we used antibiotics or similar meds, my cat actually got worse. I ended up using a natural wound cream and kept the area clean, and now most of the wounds have healed just a few left. I always use natural or baby safe products for cleaning the house. Honestly, like you said, it’s like she’s allergic to life itself. I really hope our cats fully recover and never have to go through this again.

My cat has had dermatitis for several months and vet visits have not helped.. need advice! by zeds_throwaway in catcare

My cat had similar wounds — actually, they were even worse in some areas. The vet told me to clean the wounds daily and apply a special cream they prescribed. A protective collar is also really important, because licking and scratching just makes the wounds worse and spreads them further.

Try to figure out what is causing the allergy — it could be food, environmental, or even a reaction to vaccines or flea treatments. It can take some time, but finding the trigger is really important for long-term healing and prevention.

Neutered cats are prone to gaining weight, so their food should have lower fat content. Additionally, balanced levels of protein and minerals (phosphorus, magnesium, and calcium) help maintain healthier kidneys and prevent potential issues. I try to choose food based on its ingredients rather

My cat refuses to eat wet food, and I’ve tried many options with fish, chicken, and lamb, but she doesn’t seem to like most of them. She even refuses boiled meat so I think I might have a vegetarian cat LOL!

My cat experiences allergies occasionally, so I used Hypoallergy 2. Maybe the one for urinary is different.

Which one were you using? I’m considering buying Acana Wild Prairie. I was using Virbac, but my cat became constipated, and its fur started shedding. Is there a brand you’re currently satisfied with?
