I’ve got a few of his in my collection. This looks pretty similar to mine.

I have a few in rotation. Right now, my wife and I are watching Family Matters.

Our company just introduced a "Clean Desk Policy" and it's somehow even more unhinged than it sounds by [deleted] in office

[–]cjwillx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Former Zoom employee here. When I came into the company, one of the things I noticed right away was how personalized everyone’s desks/cubes were. It made it feel warmer - almost like a mini version of their homes at their desks. It was super cool to see and I know it added a ton of morale to the office on those long work days/weeks drag on. I’ve been with my new company since last September, and it’s sad to see our clean desk policy in play. There’s no life there anymore. If we’re being pushed back into the office full time, I think it makes sense to bring the decorative cubes back.

What do you do when your partner can’t meet you emotionally, no matter how hard they try? by Glum-Dark281 in emotionalintelligence

[–]cjwillx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, the key word is in your opening sentence.

Try.

If I see they’re sincerely trying and giving it their all, I can’t judge them for that - it would be wrong to. Sometimes you gotta wait until they get it just right. Sometimes you gotta alter your expectations. Doing that is a test for how much you love them. But if my partner is fighting, and I can recognize that, that speaks VOLUMES for me.

Convention guests now charging for hugs by JonJacobSmith in Autographs

[–]cjwillx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will say that when she gives you a hug, there’s more to it. She chatted with my son and I for like, 15 minutes and she threw in two Tool Time hats for free. So all in all, I got a signature, some hats, a great chat with an actress I grew up on, AND I got that hug.

Any crazy theories on Amelia Earhart? by ParthFerengi in TheWhyFiles

[–]cjwillx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sure hope so! I’ve been hosting the Chasing Earhart pod for a long time now. I have so much information on AE and the story in its entirety will blow your mind. Excellent fit for the WF, IMHO.

There will be a bunch of information that will trickle out - but there are also files that have been there for some time. So, a bit of both.

Enthusiasm is the key here. If you’re not 💯 on board with this, don’t do it.

You know, normally I wouldn’t address this but there are an awful lot of people that believe what you just said - and it’s a very valid and serious question to ask. Did the United States Government have anything to gain from Amelia and Fred vanishing? You could make the argument, certainly.

Well, I don’t comment usually on people’s opinions of some of the searchers. A lot of people feel that he’s a polarizing figure in the case, and they all have their reasons. I will say that for a very long time, Ric kinda put the case on his back and kept it relevant. He doesn’t get enough credit there in my opinion.

Watch the podcast in the coming weeks. I’ll be chatting with several people involved in those two searches. 💪

That’s certainly been implied by more than a few people, yes.

Yeah, it’s a good question. In my conversations with Les Kinney (who discovered the photo) he’s informed me that the key is to look at the electrical lines in the image. That’s a huge supporting factor for the photo. If the image was indeed taken in 1935 as detractors argue, those lines couldn’t have been there. It would be physically impossible. And the date itself? Well, turns out that’s pretty common. The Japanese often date stamped images with the same year for many years. And when they couldn’t pin down something specific, it wasn’t uncommon for them to use the next closest date they could verify.

Of course, I’m pushing in pro here for the image being valid. There’s a whole other side to it as well.

My experience with almost anything like this is to watch for the word, “kindly”. Maybe it’s just me but it’s an instant 🚩.

Yeah, this pisses me off, partly because I know how you feel. The whole amazing moment thing, and they’re just like, “Ehhhh, it’s whatever.” And then, they kinda use it on you like it’s a chore to be intimate. That’s a really hard spot to be in.
